this is the weirdest freakiest things i've ever saw, wow it looks like a spaceship hahahah. Wow technology these days for cat toilets are really awesome, wish they sold stuff like this where i live sigh....my country soooooooooooooooo third world....
To anyone who thinks this is a lazy invention or a waste of money, is totally WRONG!!! i guess noone ever thought about how like practically the whole WORLD is pregnant at some point within their lives and how they probably have a cat. When you are pregnant you are NOT allowed to change litter as their is a parasite in the feces that can give your growing baby a disease. SO therefore, this invention is brilliant and well worth the money!!!!
This is really great. We just got ours yesterday and after smacking the globe a few times, our 4 cats are finally adjusting. The youngest one, our 5 month old kitten seems to like it the most. He is so fearless that he has even hopped in a few times during the cleaning cycle. Lol. This is hassle free and a great way to save on the cost of litter as well.
I posted this originally to show my friend in another state how it works. I cannot believe that it got so many hits. The device is great, it's been working for a few years reducing the crappy party of having cats.
hi jablock have just spent 2 hours researching these gadets as I have been scooping for 2 years since my 3rd littermaid bought it. it sounds like UR really still happy with the product. @brendago@brendago . Hi, Happy New Year. We are still on our original one and it has been worth the full price many times over. A few things to notes, many of our friends got it, and for one couple, the cats would not turn around and somethings stick its head in the litter robot and poop outside. Another couple's cats were afraid of it. So your cat's will play a large part on the success. The litter robot itself is great. We clean the bins once a week. Other than that, no worries.
hi jablock have just spent 2 hours researching these gadets as I have been scooping for 2 years since my 3rd littermaid bought it. it sounds like UR really still happy with the product. it really doesn't take much time for them to get used to it. mine were using it after only 20 minutes of sniffing and making sure it wouldn't bite them.
Wow. What does your comment have to do with a litter box? This isn't a political forum. By the way, if you have to revert to cursing to get your point across or just to be inflammatory, you've already lost the point. You're making other republicans look bad.
I'm thinking of buying this. Does it cut down on the odor? I have three cats and we're moving from my parents big house to a one bedroom 700+ square foot apartment. As of now I just have one of the three in my apartment with me and a normal box and there is no odor at all. At my parents house they shared a box in my the sitting area of my bedroom and the odor is so-so. Not too bad. I'd really love to not have to scoop again. Please let me know!
Yes, it cuts the smell enormously. I have three cats and have had my robot almost three years now. I do need to empty the box every 4 days or so and if I don't it can get messy. When I have had problems with it I call support and they talk to me on the phone and clear it right up - usually the problem has just been a matter of cleaning a part or adjusting the weight sensor. I love this thing more than any other appliance I have.
I've had the litter-robot for about 4 years... best product I've ever purchased... trouble free, cat loves it, and I only dump the drawer about 1x per week at most. (1 cat) .
Hello! this looks very intriguing... does the litter track outside of the box? And also, does the compartment where the 'stuff' goes smell at all? I can imagine once it gets filled it would stink pretty badly.
We don't get much litter on the floor. The compartment is not airtight, but oder's from there are not very strong (and I have a sensitive nose). We put a cup or two of baking soda inside the compartment to absorb the oder's.
We have two, and I can tell you there is less litter on the floor now, than with open litter pans. 4 cats, who were once indoor-outdoor, now exclusively indoor. 2 ferals and 2 strays, at least one afraid of his own shadow and they use it. There are a lot less moving parts than you think, and after constant running for over a year, they still work a charm. They come with an 18 month warranty. If one breaks we WILL be buying another. My back has never been happier about not having to scoop!
The machine does it itself after 6 minutes. You don't have to make it cycle. The cat steps in, does his duty, and then in 6 minutes the machine turns on it's own. We have 4 cats, two machines, and they run day and night. After awhile you no longer hear them...
THAT IS if your cat is small enough to use it. My cat is 18 pounds and he misses and pee and poo goes on the floor. This litter box is too small; I hear some cats are too afraid to use it. Also the entrance, the base is entirely too small-the cat will throw litter on the floor trying to cover his mess
My 18 lb cat jumped right into the litter robot the instant I set it up. I left his old conventional litter box next to the LR for a few days, but saw the LR drawer get more and more recycled cat food deposited. The old litter box is now gone, the LR keeps the litter nice and clean and level, the cat loves it. I love it too, cleaning once a week instead of once a day!
I honestly do NOT mind spending $350 on a litterbox-but how long it will work is questionable. I went on amazon and read the reviews-though many made glowing reviews, I read the bad ones and it made me afraid to buy it. Some say it only works for a year or two then breaks down. So $150 a year for a litterbox? And customer service was TERRIBLE according to the reviews. REALLY bad.
We have two boxes, with 4 cats. They run 24/7. We've had no problems with them in over a year of service. even at 150 a year it's still cheaper than a Litter Maid... and unlike Litter Maid this works. No special bags to buy, just pop a garbage bag in and go. I empty the drawer twice a week, & people say they don't know we have cats... no smell! Twice a week bag changing, versus 2-3 times a day scooping... I'll pay 150 a year for that! My back has never been happier! LOL
Trust me, a Louis Vuitton clutch will cost you more. lol! My iphone case from them alone cost that much. Anywho, I dont like this iPoop-n-Rotate machine. Too noisy, too many mechanical moving parts which in turn means its more likely to wear and break down. My cat hates loud sounds and the litter is gonna get chucked all over the floor with an open door.
Actually, very few moving parts... and you get used to the noise. Ours run day and night and you honestly don't hear them after awhile. Also I find our cats throw out LESS litter than they did when we had open litter pans. They LOVE the fact that the litter is always clean. I love the fact that we go through a lot less litter now.
So basically, you are saying you DON'T have one, and you don't like it.... seriously! That is obnoxious and ignorant. I am likely to think you also don't have an iPhone or a LV case for it, because people who DO have those kinds of things generally have minds to THINK before they pre-judge.
Thanks for making this video to spread the goodness that is the litter-robot! I have this for a year now and it really rocks, just solidly built. I haven't used the cat genie but I'd just like to say that flushing cat poop into the ocean is bad for sea otter population. . .please consider using the Litter Robot instead!
Doesn't solid waste treatment plants avoid direct dumping into waterways since the 1972 Clean Water Act? The EPA says pollutants like PCBs and mercury (to name a few) have shown to be far worse than cat scat on mink & otter populations. And Otters are semi-aqautic, land predators are a threat too. Cat scat & litter are dumped into landfills & pose other threats to the environment from leeching into our ground water despite precautions. I think flushing cat turds is the least of 'our' problems.
True that. It seems someone here enjoys giving the thumbs down to anyone who tells the truth. That comment about poop in the ocean being bad for sea otter cracks me up! lol! Isn't primary education free in most countries?!
The same could be asked about your comment earlier about something you don't even own..... Did you go to school, see the books and just assume what was in them and that it did not apply to you?
Your response is very intellectual. Thanks for the enlightenment. Ironically, I have both the iPhone and the Louis Vuitton case (the Taiga model, if that helps) for it and strangely enough you mentioned the two. I also own several Bang and Olufsen products, but somehow I don't see what your point is on those products having any connection to this product. Anyway, hope you have a nice one. Cheers.
Hey there...just curious, is thing so loud that it's going to drive me crazy at night? I'm considering this over a cat genie because I don't really want to have to deal with hooking up plumbing or buying their very specialized cat granules and cleaning solution... The Litter Robot works with *any* clumping litter from the store, right? Any serious cons?
We have the litter robot in the far corner of the room next to the master bedroom. When we're awake, we can hear it going. However, it is not obtrusively loud. For the first few weeks, we turned it off at night, but soon found that we adjusted to it. Now we sleep right through it without any problem.
Going on one year and we absolutely love it. I get bragging rights for having found it online. The simplicity of it makes it problem free. We have two cats and we change the bin about once ever 9 days or so. I only had to clean the globe once, but that was because we let the litter goes down to almost nothing. Our big black cat looks like a snail when he goes in there with his head sticking out. All of our friends love it and many got one or more for their cats.
Because, mike240se, this device is industrial and WORKS, every time, all the time. And it doesn't REQUIRE plumbing! You can put a litter robot ANYWHERE..
I know, I've had one for over 6 years now, with ZERO complaints. And no plumbing or wet "granules".
Why would anyone buy this? Because it works anywhere and is $30 dollar CHEAPER, and, is, well, BETTER! ;-)
I've got 2 cat genies. When they work, they're awesome, but I have issues with them way too often... And when there's an issue, they're horrid... Am considering this one next...
Ditto. I also have 2 cats and a friend bought me a Cat Genie. I love it when it works, but now it appears that it's having at least one serious issue a month - plus cleaning it is the grossest thing in existence. I may also try this next.
on Dec 14 I recieved a LR. The box doesn't state that it's a LRII, but the packing slip does. Do they look different? How can I tell if I have the newer one or the older one? It cost $299, and I got it from Skymall.
If it has an integrated grate on the drawer step, or if it has a flip open door over the "exit to drawer" hole.. The drawer of the new version II has a tall v ridge in it to help the clumps distribute better in the bag.. If you have ANY of these, you have them all and it's a "Mark II" or "version II" of the device...
I've had the original robot for a couple years now. My big cat fits in there, but he got used to it when he was a tiny kitten.
The best thing about the robot (other than the obvious) is that the globe doesn't have any electronic parts in it. Washing it is easy. Just take the globe outside and blast it with the garden hose. If water isn't enough, I throw in a little vinegar or bleach and rinse. The drawer that catches the clumps can be washed in the same way, but mine never gets dirty.
Maybe you think you're funny, but it's not about being lazy. It's about getting rid of the offending matter as soon as possible whether I'm home or not. Not just for me, but also for the kitties who have to dig around in there and then take those dirty feet around my house. ..Although, after a long tiring day at work, it's nice to come home and take a deep breath without gagging.
LOL!

ReeX, do YOU like scooping cat litter? no. you use a toilet and flush it yourself, too, right?

It's hard to say but true. America has gotten lazier.

No Japan is smarter, they invented this, among other interesting people toilets. I bet they made the cat genie too.

No, they didn't make the Cat Genie, I can assure you that! The Cat Genie was invented by the owner of petnovations.

Is there more room inside this globe then the older model's globe?

??? not sure, never had the older model. Our 15lb cat uses it without problems.

I've had both - the globes are identical in size and my VERY large cat has no problem with it. YMMV..
