this may be very true that deadmau5 hates being called a DJ, but he is listed as number 6 dj in the world by DJ List: DJ Directory. i have to agree and disagree with your argument. he does produce his own music, but the meaning of djing has changed in the past couple decades. id say he is both an amazing producer and an amazing dj since good djs are known for mixing very well at clubs and gigs.

well, i'm not one to judge, not really a huge fan of his. My criticism on music is large, but thats for mostly progressive trance or trance stuff. My feel for deadmau5 is not because I like his tracks or not, i really think they are too simple, but i do give him that he does a good performance, maybe he uses ableton and already has stuff beatwarped and stuff, but i can say he gives off a good show and he made great connections during his upbringing of his career.

I hate it when people say that Deadmau5 plays the same set everytime he's on stage and talk shit on him. If you actually listen to his sets while he plays, they are never the same. I've seen him 4 times and it's the same basic track list but he always remixes and adds effects and other stuff into it. Deadmau5 is a bomb producer/DJ... and being from Canada just makes me love him that much more! He killed it at TAO. I was right in front... so epic!

I've seen him four times now and outside of some very impressive DJ work, his track listings are quite similar. I personally prefer to see more track variety from one set to the next. That being said, he is hands down one of the best producers in the business and 2008 was a stellar year for him. If you have not seen him spin don't hesitate if you have a chance.
