  • That place sucked ass!

  • YOU BETTER SQUARE THAT ROOM AWAY! TRASH ON THE FLOOR, LOCKERS IN A DISARRAY!! LOL...WHEN I WAS AT THE STUMPS WE HAD 2 AND 3 MAN ROOMS...NO PRIVATE PISSERS IN THEM, OURS WERE SITUATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLDG. FOR EVERYONE TO USE.

  • Is the technology and protocols different between the Corps and the civilian world?

  • playing wow??? really???

  • No alcohol allowed?I was station at MAGTFTC 29 Palms from 2001-2003 and we were allowed to have a 12 pack of beer and one bottle of liquor at max.And I had my barracks room hooked UP to the max.I had a big ass TV,surround sound system that was out of this world (speakers coming at you from all sides,a top of the line computer and a PS3.I put huge rugs on the floor so the place was almost completely carpeted,I had a couch in there too.A microwave, framed posters, pictures and all that on the walls.

  • @SockForToiletPaper I meant a PS2,PS3 wasn't out at that time, lol.Needless to say,my barracks room was hooked up and was the hangout spot for a lot of my fellow Marines.I only had ONE roommate because I was a Corporal at that time, and NCO's got no more than one roommate. And he moved out after a few months so I had a room to myself for a good bit of time.

  • im going to 29 palms, what can we bring? xbox? laptop? major things not to bring? email me plz

  • @MrLivy111 DO NOT BRING ANYTHING!! it's not worth it, you'll be there for 3-6 months if your a COMM POG, you'll end up havin to sell it all, I watched so many comm students go in and out of there and they all made that mistake and I was the one gettin their xbox's for $80 when they left.

  • @slippinslidewayz you are right, I lost a nice combo tv like that when I left comm school.

  • Remember bein there for comm school in nov 06.. Yeah.. The barracks sucked till you moved into the hilton up on the hill.. Except for the fact you had to deal with mr. greenwich..

  • hahahaahahahaha, hes still here. im leaving in 2 days, been here for 10 months

  • @masidell Na they were refurnishing the barracks when I left 29 in Dec. 09 In fact I was in charge of that shit, Coffin racks, new secretaries, new fridge and microwave per each room, but up to 5 a room now lol... Mr. Greenwich was still there though, and still a asshole lol

  • wow.. hasn't changed much when I was stationed at 29 stumps... lol...

  • must be 1666....we dont rate microwaves in 1665.....

  • Was with the communications school in 1980. We were in an open squadbay...it sucked. We eventually moved up the hill into some BAQ for a few months. Looks like they still take pretty good care of the Marines. Best of luck to you.

  • stationed there from90 - 93 with airwing, used to be mwss 173, got some new name now, DET something. Anyone know its new name? Remember "confiscating" beer fro comm school students on the weekends. What fun! Semper Fi

  • No alcohol? I was there like, last week, and they could have six beers a piece. But they had to be cans. No glass.

And I've never seen a fridge in the barracks with that much shit in it.

  • thats as a fleet marine not as a student

  • Fuckin pogs!

  • i seen the barrack there u got nicer barracks then my friend

  • this is whattt prisonn loks likee..?

  • this is where you live not prison lmao

  • Damn...you guys got it made. I was there in 1980 and we lived in open squadbays with no AC! Just those useless ass swamp coolers

  • 0651

  • ahhh u sound like ur in comm school whats ur mos

  • My son's there now. Be nice y'all. This guy is serving this Country. The ones who call him a Boot have no class.

  • @1aboo We call young Marines Boot as in they haven't seen anything yet, it isn't disrespect, its just a name, same as callin non infantry a pog, its just a name. Marines ain't nice, but we all love to have fun and we'd do anything for a brother... boot or not

  • 29 Stumps is the worse. Been there in 1996 for two Cax exercises. Never want to see it again. Good luck. semper fi

  • Question, you say no alcohol allowed then why do they serve Alcohol at the PX? I've been to 29 palms, I know what its like. Lol. Just curious, or is it age restriction to prevent a NJP?

  • I remember those barracks well.

I was stationed in 29 Palms from 1982 to 1985. I was an instructor at MCCES CEOS ROTS.

I enjoyed it and the desert. Used to fly out of 29 Palms (the town) over to Yucca Valley in a Cessna 172, land at the air strip there and taxi right up to a great Mexican restaurant and eat some great chow.

Now I'm home here in NYC. Member of MCL, AMVETS & AL. We all support you 110%!!!
