The higher the power, the greater the detection range. Active sonaris vary rarely used becasue it makes passive sonar impossible. More information is gained from listening than talking.

They don't have the dexteriaty to do that, they were probably so frustrated and sad for their friend/family member. And those stupid people didn't try to do anything.
