  • I think many Muslims are fat for the same reason a lot of pentecostal blacks are fat. They think their religions prescribes just about ANYTHING fun except for eating...

  • Muslims do not exercise. How can you run in a bedsheet? Living in America causes you to get fat because you don't walk as much to feed goats and walk camels. I've never seen a fit Muslim that wears the Klan gear. I have seen hot fit Arab chicks who don't wear head scarves.

  • The folowing tips may be of use: dance while performing your wuzu and ghusl; do push-ups while performing sajdat; sit-ups while performing ruku'; learn to hallalize any food you eat through qur'anic processing and you will look 10 yrs younger

  • The lack of motiviation is true for non Muslims, too. I also wonder if the Ramadan fast where you break the fast after sunset also contributes to this as well because you eat a large meal after sunset and go to bed shortly thereafter. All those calories that aren't spent (which is most of them) end up stored as fat.

  • Ramadhan is good time to give up smoking and for slimming. I did it and succeeded since 1993. Many authors have written books about fasting to slim and loose weight. It's the safest and healthiest method. Fasting also makes you strong, fit and active. it re-vitalises energy, combats exhaustion and stress and stengthens the hormons and immune system. This is I have personally observed. There are so many worldly bodily advantages in fasting, we must fast more frequently and not only in ramadhan

  • i heard experts say that. i.e fasting then eating a huge meal makes what you eat turn to fat, and they say this is actually the type of diet of sumo wrestlers.

    But if we would follow the sunnah in whole not in part, we would not do as today huge meals, but keep it simple. Experts say eating 6 small meals is better then 3 bigger ones.

    For personal experience, i train so i eat 6 times a day, during last ramadan i ate 4-5 times a day, but small specially the first meal, and dont think i gained fat

  • and specially simple sugars are the actual first cause of fat storage. (there is a lot of research to do)

    But simple sugars, as experts explained do bring more harm then high fat diets. Try to eat whole grains, vegetables, fruits etc. Wa Allahu a3lam

  • Eating from halal makes your supplication responded ,U should eat with your right Hand and say in the name of Allah and eat from food infront of u then thank Allah and lick your fingers after eating coz u don't know where the blessings of food exist. Camels milk and urine is useful for liver disease Allah didnt lower a disease except with a remedy as Prophet said

  • America is fatter w/ more people, and they are not muslim, and if you are fat chances are you will thin out, and then get fat again, during your lifetime, you will go up and down in weight like Oprah, if your thin you dont know what it is like to be fat, so you cant pick one point and say fix this, that isnt the way life works. although, a positive outlook and being a man open to new ideas, helps to keep the weight off, and racism doesnt work anywhere around the world, fat or thin.

  • for example i got myself involve into a football team and the majority of that team wer non muslim..then one of my fren(muslim) comes up to me n says..this is haram u r mixing with non muslims,laughing with them aftr scoring goals and this an that..now the way i was enjoying playing football aftr listening to him i wasnt enjoyin it at all..well my point is like the brother said..no motivation whatsoever..and plus too much discouragements from our own fellow muslims..

  • Assalamu alaykum bro,this is the exact topic i myself was thinking toooo..well,i dnt undstand..muslims these days especially youth..they hardly get themselves involve into anything...like sports,i mean yeah islam is our priority but Allah Himslef has urged us to look after our health..and another thing...u kno there are som msulims who are like just stand there and goes on an on abt judging othrs?that is a major barrier too!(commnt1)

  • I think this project is nice...but sometimes its very hard for some Muslims...in gyms they have like music playing, so its better to avoid that...and if someone wants to actually buy equipment, they end up not doing so b/c of the price...

    Still like the idea though :)
