Cliff Burton was a fucking Genius. this song is so perfectly composed. i've never heard a song with so much emotion and fill me with so much emotion. i was born two years after cliffs death, i've never experienced Metallica with cliff, but only through the albums i have. i wish cliff was still with metallica, but Trujillo is doing a great job and is an amazing bassist. @josh3684 He's been coasting for years. The studio albums are good when he can have a trillion shots at getting it right but he hasn't been able to keep up in live shows for a decade or more. It's sad to hear him bringing the guys down.

Great musician. In my opinion him and James should say fuck it and just produce the albums themselves, seems like Lars is in on every single decision they make musically.

But as for drumming it's just not even passable anymore.

I shouldn't say that, i believe it is something new, he seems just utterly bored of playing. I heard 'em play 04 or 05 i believe and it was absolutely perfect. Secondly it's thanks to Lars's musicality that we even got the classical albums. Just listen to Seattle or mexico. I haven't ever heard drums do so good live, he doesn't take too much space, it doesn't sound noicy, which all other drummers do, Iron maiden, Slipknot etc. Metallica have had their golden age, they are probably over 60 now!

@rodgu I haven't heard all of the Seattle concert, but I heard most of the songs. He was extremely clumsy on it. Off time, leaving parts out. Like I said I'm a fan of his, on the albums he is fine. It's just that live he is awful. As Metallica fans people have a hard time accepting that but if you listen to it from a musical point of view he's pretty terrible. And I love them, they're one of my favorite bands.

By the way, James and Lars are 47, Kirk is 48. Not sure where you got 60 from.

I used to go to sleep to this every night when I was in high school. I had a tape that was Orion copied front to back on both sides, just this song.
