Sheppard may be a good general but GDI really needs to find a PR specialist to meet the media at the press conference instead of getting a military commander to do so.
BTW, in one of the intel file you can unlock in C&C 3 it said that one of Sheppard's relatives became a GDI spokesman by the time of the Third Tiberium War. It is likely to be a shout out to this scene.
'The Ghost in the Machine' article in the 'GDI News Wire' file in the Intel Database. You can unlock it in the Hampton Roads mission after you were given the third mission objective.
The last paragraph mentioned Sheppard's relative, here is what it says: ...
Rumors that this particular bunker displayed evidence of human or humanoid life
forms in suspension capsules were quickly dismissed by GDI spokesperson Arlene Shepherd.
Let's just say that when these cutscenes were being made back in what must have been 1994, Command & Conquer didn't quite have the budget available it does today.
Yes but there was a same similar setup with the umm... whatever the doctor guy, and it had real microphones that time. I guess they just didn't have enough time to set up an actual desk like that with Microphones xD.
Out of every game I've played that Westwood made, at least during the 90s (C&C, RA, Nox, & LoL3) Westwood seemed to struggle on cinematics. C&C & RA had real actors, but when it came to recording everything, it seemed like they didn't have the technology. Nox & LoL3 cinematics were practically made of pixils. Technology was not with them that decade, but the gameplay is still.
oh yeah, thats what made Westwood popular, BEING SMART see all it takes is common sence to know what people want, and thats what Westwood had, common sence, they knew that everyone would love to see video in a game, so TAA DAAAAA, EA has more dollars than since I think, but thats okay, it only takes one or the other in this world.
I like how out of all the reporters in the room asking random questions, only 3 of them decide to speak loudly enough to be heard... lol

The technology was there to make a prety good video but Westwood just didnt have the money
morgan5154 2 years ago
True, but they were smart to scrap the cinematics from gameplay...

"It's a lie, all of it... GDI wouldn't slaughter children!"
That's brilliant. So unrealistic. Like you would ever say that to the press. Pure ownage.
FigBuscuitEatsYou 4 years ago 19
@FigBuscuitEatsYou Remember what Sheppard says later? "You've been hussled, commander!"
He's probably doing that SPECIFICALLY to create the ruckus to fool Kane. And it WORKED.
