well thats obvious, but just because he wears the same number doesnt mean hes trying to live up to mcfadden. u posting that comment shows how little your football knowledge is and u post such a worthless post
i played football in high school for 3 years. I have a state championship ring as a DE and TE. I know football, I was just trying to stir the pot on this video bc boring comments are just that, boring.
McElroy is the one missing. Did you see how under thrown this pass was? Julio had to backtrack to get it, when the ball should have been thrown farther. The DB shouldn't have even got a chance to tackle Julio. If the ball was thrown properly, Julio wouldn't have even got close to the DB that tried to tackle him. Look at 1:18.
No, not really. If your WR is covered, you have to squeeze the ball in their many times. If your receiver is open, you don't have to try fitting the ball through a small window or worry about the DB intercepting/swatting the ball. If your WR is open, there is no defender there to intercept or swat the ball. Look at the video. Julio was about 15 yards ahead of the defender and McElroy underthrew it so badly that less than a couple seconds after Julio caught it, the defender was in Julio's face.
@22dab95 You obviously don't know much about football. How many times have you seen a QB overthrow a receiver that wide open? If your WR is streaking down the field that wide open, you throw it right at him, you don't risk overthrowing. End result TD. Great play by McElroy.
@uaelite I never said overthrowing is good. But throwing it a little ahead of the WR is a good in that situation. Throwing it 15 yards behind the WR is bad. If you don't want too risk overthrowing it to him, it doesn't mean that underthrowing it by 15 yards is good.
I kind of think that they call the wrong type of routes 4 all of them WRs once they get n2 the redzone. They need 2 start double covering Julio n practice so he can get use 2 it.
I love Julio don't get me wrong and he's the reason why the other options are so dangerous... but lets not forget he's dropped about 4 passes thus far (one in the endzone) and didn't close well on a ball that was thrown for him to take advantage of VT... as the season rolls on 1 of 2 thins will happen:
1. he keeps getting double coverage/shading and everybody is better
2. they start respecting the other options and he explodes statistically. he's still very involved in the offense w/o the ball
wow it almost feels like Greg Mcelroy spreads the ball too much he only passed the ball to julio 2 times. When julio was open 6-7 times. 2 of those would have been touchdowns.
i really don't think a QB can spread the ball too much when he has the best WR and WR core in the country. (coming from an LSU fan) they will DESTROY us
IT WAS A 33 YARD CATCH AND 17 YARD RUN. MCELROY SUCK DICK!!!!

@mercer- I guarantee if he was running behind even a SERVICEABLE offensive line, he'd be a great one. That o-line at Oakland is HORRIBLE.

Hopefully, we will see #12 throw to him more in 2010. You know Julio was more banged up than they let on.

They should have done that more in the season. It's simple. Throw the ball to Julio more.

@22dab95 The more wide open the receiver the harder it is to hit him. Don't wanna take a chance and over throw him.
