you can see the handbrake light go out at 16 too. Thats how i knew, plus the engine note. I was watching to 6mph and was in the 6seconds slot, not bad!

You're not far off - I actually get going at 0:16 (you can't see it as the speedo only starts to move after 10 mph, but you can hear that I've lifted the clutch and am on the throttle) and it hits 100 mph at 32 seconds (indicated 103 mph as the speedo overreads by 3mph).

The Clios are lovely cars, the only thing that stopped me from getting one is the rear, it just seems too girly, however one of my colleagues has one of these and when we leave work he always gets ahead of me as it takes country roads so much better than my Astra, ( Mk5 2.2SRi )

Alot of wheel wobble at 100mph mark, not really a car made for going fast in straight lines, its just a little car for the city. Wouldn't waste your money with modifications. Electric's suck on renaults.

the bmw 318 has less power than 172bhp which the clio has. It also weighs just over 1000kg which does make this a quick car. The handling is awesome on these cars as well making it a good track car...

By the time the needle starts moving I'm ALREADY doing 10 mph. Time it from when the handbrake light goes out instead of from when the needle starts moving and it's low 6s to 60, and about 17 or so to 100 which is perfectly normal for a 172 Cup.
u dont start until 19/20 seconds into the vid and u hit 100 just before it ends which is 34, meaning its around 14 seconds to 100, thats much faster than a clio 172 cup standard. i own a cooper S jcwGP with a few mods pushin 245bhp and it a bit faster than that
I have had 2 of these bad boys, and they are pretty quick. I had only a k-tec racing system on one of them, and was running 14.6@96mph for the 1/4. One of the other boys with a cup that I knew was running 14.1@100mph, with the same mods as the cup in the vid. If your mates cup is 220bhp, and is not as quick as marks one here, its broken. I would recon that marks cup here is about 200-205bhp max. Mac
Watching this video made me wish i had the cup version of my 172, going from a 106gti i really didnt need the luxurys although having got them i could never go back to a stripped out racer! My clio is pretty niffty now running at 190bhp but i always think "if i had these mods on a cup how quick would it be" lol
I like my creature comforts too much lol, plus with all the additional weight a standard 172 has over a cup it would take a lot to take it down to the stock weight of the cup version ;)

iv just bought a 172 cup the other day there,fuck me its fun,really fast,never been in a 206 gti so couldnt really comment,but guarantee you the clio you would love.
my dad had a 206 gti, very fast considering its only 138bhp due to a very good torque band, the clio just has the punch above 5k revs which makes it faster than the 206. The clio is also faster than the 206 180 aswell, but thats because people over rev them in gear and they lack torque above 6800rpm, could do with the shift indicator in those things like the clio has!
The Clio 172 is an awsome little beast! and if you debadge it like i have, you always get people in an imprezza or a BMW Z3 who think they can take you on....

im not big on lambo ferraris etc...im more into audis, bmw m3s, r32's, nissan, toyota, bugattis, zonda f's...

Watching this video made me wish i had the cup version of my 172, going from a 106gti i really didnt need the luxurys although having got them i could never go back to a stripped out racer! My clio is pretty niffty now running at 190bhp but i always think "if i had these mods on a cup how quick would it be" lol

I like my creature comforts too much lol, plus with all the additional weight a standard 172 has over a cup it would take a lot to take it down to the stock weight of the cup version ;)

iv just bought a 172 cup the other day there,fuck me its fun,really fast,never been in a 206 gti so couldnt really comment,but guarantee you the clio you would love.

my dad had a 206 gti, very fast considering its only 138bhp due to a very good torque band, the clio just has the punch above 5k revs which makes it faster than the 206. The clio is also faster than the 206 180 aswell, but thats because people over rev them in gear and they lack torque above 6800rpm, could do with the shift indicator in those things like the clio has!

It's the 'Overspeed' function on the b2, warns you when you exceed a specified speed.

i've a ph1 172 ff, and i've heard the R-sport only fits cups, can't find any websites for this company either.

I don't think you can get them anymore. Once fitted it's coded to the car so a secondhand one would need unlocking.
Some in my club got them for FF172s like yours and they worked, but gave a 1,300 rpm idle - not on Cups though...it works fine.

I have a cup to and laughed at the crx comments.have had my 172 cup v lots and only bettered by m3 and 911 and evo's and scoob's.but is quicker than honda type r old and new model by around 4 car lengths to the ton.and eats all other comers.

I've never gone for an all out top-speed run - it's French so would probably crumble into dust if I did.
On track at Goodwood I see about 125mph at the fastest point and I peak at about 115mph at Castle Combe.
Doubt it's any faster than standard though, just might get there a little bit quicker.
