This movie changed my life. When i watched it, I was physically weak, but moreover - I was weak mentally. I was not confident, I didn't have a girlfriend, I was always having troubles. I've read a few books by Dan Millman, and now I'm into MMA, I've got a very beautiful, kind and intelligent girlfriend, I've found real friends, I'm confident in myself, and I no longer have any troubles. If I want to reach a goal - I reach it, for my motto is "Debes, Ergo Potes" - "Have to, therefore able to".

@OninOfine I think its very influenced by Zen buddism so i presume there is no hidden way or rule here, no 'secret' about it. The answer comes with just observation. Just 'be' and everything comes to focus by itself. Thats why its so amazing.

the message here is that regardless of what happens to you in your life no matter how bad, you should never 'react' to it, its part of your training, you should never pity yourself in fact, you should be happy about what happened to you. pick yourself up and keep doing what you do. otherwise you can choose to be a victim, caged and imprisoned by fear for the rest of your life.

Its so sad that so many people look at this movie as cheesy, because of the Hollywood image it gets. So many cant see past the typical "hero making it in the end", and see that this movie actually has a true message. I watched the movie maybe 15 times, then read the book. After what this have done to my life, I hurt inside when people sais its cheesy and meaningless. Just another inspirational story. This, imo, is one of the most important films that have been made. Should be seen by everyone.

Seriously, it really changed my life, but when i try to tell about it to others, they just go "well how nice" and forgets about it.

Yup. People are really self centered I find. I know this movie and book especially could help a lot of people I know, nobody actually cares though cuz they're caught up in what they think is more important. Not saying I'm better than them in any way either, just that they are on a seperate life path and havn't chosen to discover what I have.

Some people ask the question "What can I learn from this?"or, "How can I use this?". Dan was was seeing the accident as reason why he could not. Socrates was seeing it as a reason why he could.
