After those few seconds of Rude's help, I was TURNING wood for the first time in my life, He taught me more in a few seconds than I had learned over the previous year! The man was a master. I owe him all I know about woodturning. Thanks, Rude, wherever you are.

  • Met Rude early 1980's. Attended a woodturning seminar he was giving. I'd been turning (scraping) wood for about a year or so when I went to the seminar. Thought I was TURNING wood. Rude asked for volunteers to get on the lathe and use one of his then new gouges. I got up and gave it a go - thought I was doing pretty well. Rude, without a word, stepped behind me, placed one hand under my left elbow, his right hand under my right forearm, a couple of quick adjustments to my position and BINGO!

  • Nice video.

  • I wish they had let us use a lathe in school.

  • Awesome. A true legend!
