it's my opinion,i just think they're too top 40 anymore,sellouts.My style of guitar playing isn't for everyone either,very unique(so i've been told),it's a lonely place in the music world for uniqueness.Many a fellow musician have stated that if i want to put food on the table you have to follow the crowd,i say i'd rather cater to the few who really appreciate than sell out and please the masses(just me).

it's cool,i was around when RHCP first came out,i actually saw them at a club in LA pre BIG time,maybe i'm too biased to their old stuff.I also generalize too much,when i think a band is going to mainstream i usually forget about em.Thanks to you i'll check out their last few albums.Bassist,cool,i'm a guitarist(soloist),i do weird crap on an 8 string,very percussive(tapping,etc),and i also violate the hell out of 6 strings
