Those folks pretty much got to see history in the making there. Maybe not to the extent of Budokan, but they had to know they were seeing something special. The days of being an opening act were numbered for these guys and rightfully so!
Man i saw Cheap Trick open for KISS in 77, as you can imagine everyone was jacked to see the headliner but i paid attention to the opening act and thought they were excellent in their own right....then i began staying up till midnight to catch DK's Rock Concert, witnessed this performance and managed to make a cassette recording of the show which i treasured for years never thinking that one day i'd be watching it again thanks
My father went out on tour with these guys before i was born these guys espicaly the guitarist is insane! oh and MR. BUN E. CARLO ON THE DRUMS!!!!!!!!!!
This was the first time I ever saw Cheap Trick perform.. I love this song. Seeing this brings back so many memories. This really is one underated band..
That one person who hit "dislike" likes all the crap some kids like.im 13 and i hate rap. i love Cheap trick,Lynyrd Skynyrd,The Beatles, and other bands
Clock strikes ten it's a Saturday night Got money in my pocket and it feels allright Not stayin' home gonna stay out late Gotta hear some rockin' music and it feels just great Clock strikes twelve on a Saturday night All the creeps are sleepin' all the cools in sight All the kings and queens, they're out tonight Lookin' for some action 'til I feel allright Imagine what we're doin' tonight You really got me goin' tonight Imagine what we're doin' tonight I'm crazy for some action...
great band & vid - thanks for posting. Robin was really cute then... I'd love to jam w Bun E. - he's a great rock drummer. That Nielson guy is no slouch on the guitar, either. Ya shold know that a joint (of pot) was called "a number" back then - so their outro song is a double entendre... keep rockin!
weird to see Mr Rick with a strat

Is your "Dream Police" album still displayed in Rockford Police Department? I thought that was the coolest thing I ever saw. Couldn't believe it.

I hope they made good money for this show because Rick really needs some new speaker covers !

@PaintedDemon That is none other than Bun E. Carlos, Cheap Trick's original drummer! Few drummers could compete with him back then.
