@ziussavas i know my coach goes to college and all he makes us do is condition and skirmish/passing drills, he helps us with nothing @littleboyst7 screaming gets them motivated to do better so it is the solution!
You guys can take the piss out of him for what he does and for all I know, you probably barely kick a football in your lives. These are the kind of coaches in football you will find anywhere, good work for the coach.
good drill, basics spot on. Guys like this coach make defenders horrible, which is what they need to be. NOthing worse for a coach than watching yr defenders stroll round the field like its playtime at first school. Kids have to be super quick in closing down, nearest man to the ball, close down fast. If yr basic team shape is right the nearest man to the ball should be the right oe to close down anyway, without too much covering. Constantly praises the kids when they do right. Nice one
Good session, great coaching. The coach is getting a result, the closest man to the ball shutting down, simple. That's all he want from this two minute demonstration. It's hard work and you can see that the players involved start to tire quickly and lose concentration. I really don't get the negative comments. Well done coach!
@sheehanscience this tactic makes player tired easily because its triple the work of the player but the result shows... pressure incorrectly can cause the other team an open spot to lob pass or cross and easy goal. that why most highschool dont used this tactic.
terrible coaching, butchering the easiest topic to coach !!!! worldclass coaching i think not more like pub football you want worldclass coaching pay for a uefa coach !!!!
High pressure team defending is a double edged sword... if done right, it'll help you when in a pinch, at a desperate times. However, done wrong, it can easily leave your side open to attack like what's happening in this video.
I coach U14 boys soccer and I must confess that the teams that play more aggressively, win the ball, put more pressure, run down other players, jockey, etc. usually come out on top when the final whistle blows. Though this guy is not teaching technique or formations, he happens to be teaching the right mindset.
this is the coach you want to be working with if you want to improve

Fricken awsome. That's urgency tht is needed for man defense. You have to make them want to be obnoxious as defenders.

This tactic is not used enough in high school, etc. It works! Especially if you make them play in the center of the field.
