  • This is the very first play i'd ever seen

  • that is Andrew Varela as Jean Valjean, not Mark McVey!!

  • @kmaxa13 You're incorrect, this is J. Mark McVey.

  • Wow. They seem half-dead. Maybe they were tired.

  • this is utter balls compared to the west end version....

  • I am in love with David Masenheimer's voice!

  • Hmph. Since I'm only 12, I wasn't alive for the original Broadway stuff. So I was stuck seeing Les Miz at the Kennedy Center and on TV. *pouts*

  • The quality sound is not the best same with the image but at least the guy is good cameraman.

  • thank u for putting this up, this is the closest i'll ever get to being able to see this on broadway. the london cast with michael ball as marius is my favorite. so again thank u

  • aw i saw this exact showing in 2002 =P, i was too young to remember alot of it though XP

  • javert is great!!

  • My cousin Lawrence Clayton is Valjean in the new one. It is great i have ssen it in columbus and Maryland.

  • i wuld do anything to see this on broadway ! i dont think its on broadway still ? right ?

  • @iloveyou1997jd nope. the last time it was on Broadway was like 2-3 years agom using the sets ferom the 3rd National Tour and some funky orchestratrions designed for a smaller Orchestra (Tour 3 had a Small Orchestra i'm surprised they didn'tr just use thosae adapted oirchestrations. there was NOTHIUNG wrong w/ the ones John Cameron did.

  • @disneydanny2 i was wondering if the set was always like that :P im going to go see this up at the kennedy center when it goes there :)

  • @iloveyou1997jd don't expect to see this same set. the current touir is TOTALLY different.i still am sad to hear that there will be no turntable in the new version. i really liked that

  • @disneydanny2 it is its also very conveinent lolz

  • @disneydanny2 I've seen the new show and still amazing even without the turntable.

  • Anyone with headphones- is it only playing in the left side? Or is it just my headphones?

  • @xHigexLovex Weird it's only playing on my left, too......

  • @xHigexLovex same my headphones has it playing in the left side too

  • the 25th anniversary priest was better

  • @BecomeMyNewCat And that Javert was my fave too. I was surprised by Samantha Barks. She reminded me of Lea Salonga at times in her voice

  • I know Javert! I just did a show with him. He played over 1,000 performances and he's a great guy!

  • The cast is good for the most part. But one point where valjean says "took me FLIIIIIGGHTTTT" the valjean didnt do it at the same awesomeness as colm wilkonson or alfie boe. Actually he didnt even sing it. He said it!!!!!

  • I can't decide whether this or Phantom is my favorite.

  • @lisambofoh story of my life

  • valjean is ok but I don't like this Javert. then again, no one can match up to Phillip Quast IMO.

  • @DeathGodRiku Norm Lewis isn't bad either !

  • @DeathGodRiku I so agree! I was spoiled by listening to/watching Philip Quast, and no one else is the same!

  • It's been around for so long for a reason. Come visit my page for a cover of On My Own.

  • Ah, the good old Imperial Theatre! I had the good fortune of seeing this singularly wonderful musical there so many times. It just never got old, and seeing this video makes that show seem as fresh as ever in my mind.

  • This ws when I first saw Le Miz. This brings back memories; thanks so much for posting this... ♥♥ love this cast

  • google "les miserables script musical" (without quotes) and click the link from angelfire(dot)com to see lyrics for act 1. itll help you understand what theyre saying

  • Well done for getting such a great recording, really clear, and no disrespect to you at all but this looks quite low budget for broadway? and I don't like Valjean at all :/

  • @GottaLoveShowbiz Production cost 4.5 million to mount and God-knows how much to run each night. Compared to huge spectacles, Les Mis was modest yet achieved a reputation of spectacle to most audiences. Some critics thought it overblown--funny considering how simple yet effectively it was. I thought it was spectacular too but in a different way from your typical empty glitz. The surrounding set (can't be seen here) provided an awesome atmosphere--contrast with the lighted objects was stunning.

  • God, i Love the intro <3

  • saw it yesterday in london's queen's thetre for my 13th birthday. best bloody musical ever!!

  • god bless that turntable! its a brilliant story telling device

  • wait ... im not complaining but isnt recording a musical illigal?

  • @missfox76 well yeah but they probably wont go to jail

  • @missfox76 No, but it's illegal to sell the recording. So no laws are being broken

  • Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for this!

  • ahhhh i cant believe he doesnt do that super long high held out "flight"

  • @hoyasaxa0908 I know right, I was waiting for it. Favorite part.

  • @hoyasaxa0908 <3 Alfie Boe...

  • @hoyasaxa0908 Absolutely... A LOT was left out it seems, but a little Lex Mis is better than none...

  • @hoyasaxa0908 RIGHT! i was like "yes yes yes... NOOOOOOO"

  • thank you... xD

  • I wish I would have bought tickets for this when I had the chance, but it with either this or The Phantom of the Opera.

  • @nestersg Yes, You should have went to Les Mis! Phantom is great too!

  • thank you soooo much!!!id never get to see this musical otherwise!!thank you !!!

  • THANK YOU.

  • great quality!

  • You should put lyrics in the description box since the video is kinda hard to hear. I really appreciate the video tho! :)

  • @skrubsam I can't even begin to count how many times I saw this show on Broadway during the 90's... There were always some lyrics that were impossible to understand... "The Complete Symphonic" 2 CD version of Les Miserables' soundtrack DOES include printed lyrics to all of the main songs. For "Do you hear the people sing", there was a line "the blood of the martres will water the meadows of France!" that had my friend and me guessing for years until they released that version.

  • @CarolineAnnMartinCAT Also, just to add, if you get the DVD "10th Anniversary" Les Miserables in Concert, the lyrics are there (though then you miss out of all of the visuals...
