@Kopite19911 Just a bit of useless info for you, it was Michael Newmann and a work friend of his who came up with the idea for the TV show.

Can't remember exactly who he played but he is or was a fully trained life guard.

@Kopite19911 Not a problem actually The production company rejected the whole idea believing it would be boring.

I mean I know that because I did allot of looking at doing a career here in the UK, ended up being just a part time job in my local pool, used to have a valid NPLQ (there's 2 types of basic qualification you need to become a full qualified life guard in the UK), one for pools and one for beaches.

Thinking of renewing it to be honest, but never seem to get around to sorting it.

@andrew8833 Always dreamed of being a life guard. I'm just unfit. I'm not overweight or any thing and I'm healthy too. There's swimming pools all around me to become fit and swimming courses are there also but I never really took to it. At least u ave sumthin that I envy mate :)

@Kopite19911 To be 100% honest with you it was when I was in my summer and in the evenings from Further education college.

Started off when I was about 15 doing the Rookie (a scheme when I was a younger that was around), I am actually not qualified any more, you need to keep the certification up (I think from memory it's every 2 years).

But it was the most boring job on the planet.

@andrew8833 The Institute that I go to is litreally a minute away from indoor swimming pools. "Leisureworld" provides facilities for the courses and students.There is a place next to a Uni where they offer courses in life saving. Might take it up. Sure you can always teach your kids since you already have experiance.

The bass and rhythm sounds groovier in this version than in the original. The piano solo is completely changed and although the part that replaced it is nice I really miss the original solo. This song is awesome and the fact that it's a theme to a cheesy TV show doesn't change it a bit.
