The 1980's was a great time not only for music; but it was a GREAT decade for peace, prosperity, and pride! For those of you who were not fortunate enough to be alive during that decade, you have absolutely no idea what you missed! That decade was about good times, working hard, building America's prominence; etc. I would give anything to go back as an adult during that time; as opposed to growing up in that era.  I am glad to know the music I grew up listening to still resonates to this day!

I grew up in that decade as well,newly married and was filled with hope for the future and for our country. It is now 30 yrs later and the world has so changed and not all for the good. There still was a sense of innocence and dreaming was just what you did. The 80's was a great time for music and so many wonderful things.

the 80s had excellent music! especially Euro punk rock, I dunno what was going on in the American charts other than maddona, whitney, lionel richie, michael j, and so on...but Euro music was the bomb!! you can't discredit today's music either, some of it is also amazing, alternative is very cool Alanis, Dido, Jewel, Also Soul is pretty darn good...Alicia K, Nora J, etc...I think we have the good and the bad in every era.
