  • put panels from your pontoons to your main hull thats should stop the water. make sure they are wing shaped. it will give you a bit of lift as well! good luck bud!

  • loving it mate .

  • Great looking craft! Best of luck with the engineering issue (this from another frustrated engineer).

  • lol fail in 2:02

  • Nice try. Good to see you going out on a limb and trying something a little different. That is the only way progress is made...and forget what the little people say that is negative. They don't count much anyway...which is probably why they are negative in the first place.

I have similar plans from about 50 years back that show an airboat made from twin airplane floats and the boat has almost no drag once it is up on the step. I'm gonna build that someday, but maybe you will beat me to it.

  • frnds hav experimented using boogie board cut up turning into sponsons.. and framed into riggers.. try this.. "A" for effort.. keep it up you'll get a awesome airboat soon enough...

  • try a push prop.

  • when your rc boat/plane acclerates it submerges and the propeler submerges a little casuing a spray of water. to change that angle the engine down 15 degrees so that it wont put so mutch strain on the boat. or you could make a aluiminum hydrophoil

  • Air Boat? More like Fail Boat... ;)

  • help fight against WMG (the pricks that take the audio off) by not buyung their music so videos like this will have sound

  • YEA DOWN WMG DOWN WMG

    I hate WMG

  • the bow of the boat sprays up water into the prop and then puts into the carberater there are a couple things you can do, py the mote in the back and make it push not pull, or the simler way put a snorkle or gaurd on the carberater but if you put the engen on the back and make it push it will go faster

  • put a snorcle on carb

  • it's a gas powered RC plane motor. they spin very fast, but once you put a load on them they will have a tough time keeping up.

  • that's funny, dude

  • i got it i got it....you are trying to pull the boat instead of pushing it. your prop is just picking up water and making mist. seems to me all airboats are push not pull, so they dont pick up agua

  • i no why is had hapen yo me 3 time in a da it is in revers chang the wireing to the engin orstart it up ruv it upput your hade behind the propif wind is blowing into your hade i have no clue

  • good song

  • hahahahaha lolololol

  • hey you need to have the boat float higher on the water make the center float bigger

  • hey man u need to angle your engine so that the prop is blowing to the water instead of sucking

    i do planes and boats

  • Don't listen to these other idiots. I Build home made rc airboats also. Looking at your video I saw that you had a tube on your carb. Get rid of it because the air flowing over that tude causes a vacuum over it witch causes it to suck up the water.

  • thats a air boat ha

  • o and if u do wut i said before it would enhanse or make the ruddder have more grip to turn the air boat because its not just relying on the speed air resitance now its more of the props air resistanse if u get what i mean???....

  • ummmmm..... daaa turn the engine around reverse the prop and yull be all good ....how could u not think of tht

  • Turn the engine around and use a "pusher prop".

  • because the it is sucking in the air to push the airboat

  • What happened is it running better

  • dass is so geil

  • the reason why it sucks up water is cuz you're a douche. how about you just buy one that is RTR at your local hobby shop or from tower hobbies....im sure they have some hack of a hobby shop in maine for you to go to...

  • reves the prop and the motor so its a pusher it wount suck up water.

  • but the motor will mosly get hotter

  • I made one to I used a .60 engine. It looks like your floats are to small I used Styrofoam airplane floats the kits are cheap.

  • How does your .60 handle? I have a .46 Vortex airboat that I purchased three years ago. I took it out on the lake last month for the first time. Phun experience. It wasn't that fast but neither was it a slouch. I bet your .60 gets up and goes. All I need to do is bring my canoe next time, in case it stalls in the middle of the lake.

  • The first time out it was fast at quarter throttle than it did a forward flip i had to fish it out with a fishing pole LOL .I need to ad weight to the back . I took out the glow plug blew it out and the engine ran fine again. just make sure to put the receiver in a bag and seal it good. One of my fav engine is 46 OS they scream!

  • Those .60s are powerful . I bought a .45 ducted fan K&B engine in 1981 but I didn't use nor start it. I took it back and traded it for a .61 O.S. Max Schneurle ported engine. I still have it to this day. Lots of fun. Have never put it to use.

  • where did u buy the parts for it and how much did they cost dude that sucks in the end

  • can i ask what is air boat

  • just no muffler for me os40 but still runs ok lol

  • do what i done use a surfboard well a sail board except for the sail i usin a os25 motor and at idle it moves quicker than expected carnt wait till i install radio gear and get more fuel and tune the dame thing so i can give it a good test lol so big= nice and stable i should mod the mount and install me os 40 on it

  • this is a airplane crashed!

  • it sucks water because it´s too open in the "floor". Is it possible to put some kink of surface under de engine and propeller ?

  • damn i hoped the kid would fall and let thecurrent take him away.....

  • I'd try also to water proof your electrics better too

  • cool am try to made the same

  • hi, im from phillipines, why dont you just buy a toy boat or a toy speedboat and put the engine over the boat, (most precisely , at the rear part of the boat) just like hovercraft and put a rudder under your boat to have a nice steering effects, just like the real boat...

  • yeah man. just turn your engine around.

  • it usually helps to point the boat the way u want it to go, not trying to push it backwards facing towards you. ass

  • Hello!i'm from argentina, I have one of these and doi council. We can try making pusher, turning the engine 180 ° (that looks to back) that is not going to have more problems ... Excuse the poor English, i use a translator. Bye!

  • your english is okay but man that translator sucks

  • wow... that was sad

  • WERE TAKIN ON WATER CAPIN!

  • i think you should put the wings further back and move the motor up some and make the prop angle up just a tad so it will pull up the front as it goes up on plain

  • Make it a pusher prop turnit around it will work for shizzle

  • yea man i built one of these but it was on a boogey boadr it was great worked good

  • dude if u turned the prop around it will spin the other way and it wont suck in any water

  • plus, he could cover the engine with somethimg( i suggest foam)

  • More bouyancy too...

  • I dont think any talk smacking is called for. With some tuning that thing will move like it means business... Use a taller body but keep the tri hull I think that is a good idea. I have made many of these with weed-eater engines and I think you may be on to something. Put a gaurd on the lower part of the prop and see if that stops the vaccumm.

  • don't be an asshole. if you don't like it why did you comment? keep your shithead remarks to yourself.

  • you need to give it more of a "boat"like shape, instead of a "plane" shape. thats one of your key issues right there. another thing is, when you hit the throttle, the nose went down and so did part of the engine, thus is your problem. also, it would be wise to put the engine in the back of your boat so that when it takes off like a bat out of hell, the bow will stay level(or go up, depending on how powerful your motor is) and wont go down. and also, rudders under the boat, maybe a good thing...

  • Hi. Don't take that persons rude comments personally. Anyways, you asked why your prop sucked up water. The engine is too low to the surface of the water. I admire you for at least trying and taking risks. Thats how you learn, thats how I learn; by making mistakes and asking how to do better next time.

I bought an airboat (Vortex .46) The engine sits high from the water surface, plus there is more body surrounding it. Your model is very thin, but it has a neat design, appearance wise.Have fun

  • Go easy on the guy. I once was nineteen too, and was very critical of people. You remind me of myself some 28 years ago. LOL. Youth today... nothing has changed. I was one too and now I'm 47. Looking back, I laugh at how I used to me.

Give the guy credit. At least he took a risk and tried.

  • yeh flip it around the other way, i dont play with these things much but i do know that it will go better the other way.

  • ummm you need to put the prop up higher

  • will that fix it for sure? i am waiting until winter to mess with it, because i will use it on snow.

  • It is normal for air prop to suck water. As for not letting water spraying into the air intake; may I suggest that using a plastic or flexible rubber tube to redirect the opening back further. One end of tube attached to Cab and the other end to the rear of the boat?

  • i should just turn the engine around. s0o0unds easy enough.

  • then i need a reverse prop.

  • hahaha, what hte F***?! jaajajaj

its called LOW pressure.... the prop lowers the pressure in the front and of course, increases in the rear! its called DRAG..

u could try a small flap underneath the proptip line..?!

  • aim the prop above a bit and make it higher and the boat wider!!! but it looks pretty nice

  • Prop is TOO close to the water . Props SUCK air in and anything that is close enough to the prop will ALSO get sucked in . Your CG is ok by the viewing the hull sitting in the water idling. Make your engine pod a bit higher up in the air

  • wow thats simply amazing i wish i could make stuff like that would you plz make plans for it when its all working but any way thats really cool

  • those aren't wings. they are called sponsons or out riggers, and they keep the front floating, and the boat from tipping over.

  • i havent had time to mess with it. i have to much work to do, but i think i will make it into a pusher, and maybe widen the hull

  • dont touch the blade :)

  • wooow brilliant! i really like that keep up the good work and ba dluck about the carb but u will sort it lol

  • VERY cool and simple design. CG, "center of gravity" is too far forward and high-mounted thrust (prop) is using poor CG to pull the front of the 'boat' down as you increase power. Test it with adding lead weight to the rear until it quits nosing over upon power-up.

  • lmao when it cuts out right in the middle and then the "wtf"

  • i think i will do something to make the hull wider. that sounds like a plan.

  • prop is to close to the water, and since the hull is skinnier, it will suck all that is around it. try encasing the motor and put the intake facing to the rear

  • Make the hull wider that the prop !?

  • I think a possible solution would be to curve your intake down. In this way it would make it so that water has to go against gravity to get into the engine. I hope it helps. If not I also recommend ~rcuniverse~
