  • great channel

  • video stops playing at 5:16 wont restart

  • Nice video.

Today I was geocaching (winter) and one was up the tree, its ok but its now like - 18 Celsius degrees here and windy :/ and lots of snow :D

  • Where are your gaiters?? People, wear gaiters in such conditions. Thay are very useful. No point in beeeing wet to the skin.

  • I like to geo cache, I got my handheld from gpssatnavreviews (.) com

  • HHH? My husband and I are puzzled if we should cache in the winter. He thinks it could be just as easy as it could be just as hard. Easy meaning others that have cached before lead the way to the cache by a snowy trail. And also could be harder as of the snow covered ones make it harder. Whats your personal take on it???

  • another reason when geocaching if your in a cold area or prone to snow and cold whether dont put ink pens as the ink will freeze so you wont be able to log your find use pensils but provide a sharpener

  • fallow the snowprints lol

  • @ndavid27 Muggle trails do show the way some times :)

  • was that not your ammo box you found in this video? it looked like the same writing on the side of the ammo box as in one of your other videos... also that lake behind looked the same as the other video..

thanks your videos are a great help to ease the searching

  • Yep like stated a few comments below. I was literally trapped two miles from my house and all the major roads were closed because of the ice. You might notice many of the cars seen behind me actually are seen going back the other way later in the video because they hit the road blocks.. So I had to do the best I could with what was in the area. Still had fun because I had not been at that site in over a year and it was not placed where it originally was.

  • Thanks for sharing the experience of geocaching in the winter. We have to deal with a lot of snow where we live here in Northern Utah, so we have times were we have to poke the snow with our walking poles. We do enjoy the chance to go to St. George, UT during the winter, that is always nice to do geocaching there since there isn't any snow there. We usually don't go caching up the surrounding canyons, since most have gate closing the canyon for the winter. Is is diffinitly more challenging.

  • I really like the challenge of geocaching in the winter because it does raise the difficulty so much. I also know it raises the frustration levels as well but boy when you actually do make the fine.. Woot!

  • Another good video, even though we avoid caching too much in the winter...but we count the days until spring, we use a DeLorme PN-30 that we got this past September and have been very happy with it.

  • Thanks for watching.. I just came from Michigan where pretty much all my family resides and they are in the same boat. The snow and weather just slows down the geocaching much like the sweltering heat does down here in Raleigh.

  • Nice work, HHH! I enjoy all of your videos - they are very useful. I don't use walking sticks and the possibility of damaging someone's cache with it is unacceptable for me. I prefer to use gloves and carefully search for the cache, instead of poking around with a stick. But everybody has different approaches, right? I am posting a Video Response to your video - it's one of my winter geocaching hunts. You have to turn on the CC, so you can read the English subtitles. Keep up the good work! :)

  • That's the beauty of geocaching MrMollov, you can do as you please with however you want to geocache. Looking forward to your video and thanks so much for watching!

  • What gps do you use? Or what kind would you suggest? I'm looking into buying a new one to go geocaching with. I'm currently using a car gps.

  • I use several but the main work horses are the Garmin 60CSx and my blackberry with Geocache Navigator.

My first 75 or so geocaches I found with my Nuvi 220 so I have been there. A good GPS will make geocaching so much easier for you.

  • LOL, after about the zillionth time I watched the video during editing I noticed the little guy running around. Didn't know he was there. Very cool!

  • Wearing cotton outdoors in the winter is not a good idea. Just google "cotton kills" if you need to know why. You probably should have touched on that. Also footwear. Many trails get icy and treacherous in the winter so crampons or micro spikes are essential.

  • Excellent points briansnat, thank you. Your feedback is always well appreciated! -HHH

  • Great video. 5 stars for you.

  • And thank you so much for watching :) -HHH

  • his "lucky find" was one of his?? sorry, did it say headhardhat on it?

anyway great video dude :) i love them :)

  • Shhhh, that's our secret.. I was literally trapped two miles from my home and i had to get out to do some filming so one of the caches was one of mine that I had not seen in two years. In fact it was the first one I ever hid... I actually did not know where abouts it really was so it was just as much of a surprise to find it.. Good catch.. Normally I do film geocaches as I actually find them so this was more of a necessity... Thanks for watching... -HHH

  • hahah i was kidding HHH :)

i'm just glad we got another GeoSnippets :)

could you maybe check out my geocaching videos? i have a few :)

  • Thanks Andy, the only problem with caching in the winter we dont get to see your signiture tye dye shirts. LOL

  • LOL, yep I had a tiedye on in spirit though it was under my normal black shirt :) Spring in NC should be some time next week when it gets back in the 60s. The tiedye will be returning soon. Thanks for watching.

  • I will have to remember my duct tape while out winter caching!

  • Duct tape will help with broken plastic lids all year round. Many geocached get poked from walking poles all the time. Thanks for watching...

  • Great video. I live up in Canada and these tips definatly help

  • Glad that they can be of some help.. it was a very icy day when we filmed it. Thanks for watching...
