  • I miss this

    song....

  • personally i think magnetic north is one of the greatest albums ever written. their old stuff is good but the newer stuff a types and such is really good. too bad trustkill are fucks

  • @ryansimms71

what did trustkill do, drop them?

  • @practicespace Trustkill was one of the major reasons they broke up, besides all of the member changes, but they fucked them out of a bunch of money i guess is what I heard. But they have done the same shit to other bands ie. Bleeding Through

  • i wasn't talking about back in the day, i was saying that we need to take the music back from an industry that exploits it. and the frailty of words came out in 98, check the cover, it's now 2010, that would make it 12 years old, check your calculator. i got the frailty of words at cornerstone 99 when they were selling it out of their hands. don't try to school me, man, i was there.

  • anyone remember "the frailty of words"? let's take the music back!

  • The Frailty of Words isn't even 10 years old yet dude. Wait another 10 years before saying this is a "back in the day" album.

  • its ok

  • There's about a million other bands that sound just like this... where's the originality in music anymore?

  • @michaelxchristian blame the other bands

hopesfall was doing this in 2000

  • Thursday was around in 2000 and sounded like this as well.

  • fuck you trustkill

  • isnt the singer on One Tree Hill now?

  • this takes me waaaayyy back =] love hopesfall <3

  • F'ing ditto bro.

  • "way back" huh? haha. keep livin, kid.

  • trustkill killed this band.

  • @lobster272 Yeah, they did break up after their album Magnetic North...well...all except for Jay (lead singer)

  • honestly i think if Jay Forrest decided to grab some new musicians, he could totally bring Hopesfall back. at the very least he NEEDS to, because they're way to boss to be done.

  • @drewhadou they should just change the name if thats the case. josh brigham was the last original member

  • well, perhaps they should then. all the same, they're too good at what they do to not make music anymore.

  • that would be like having a led zeppelin reuinion with the only original member being the bassist. jay forrest wasn't even one of the founding members. every member that made this band what it is is gone.

  • i still like hopesfall even though im willing to admit they arent the same as they used to be, but what band that has been out any length of time really is, they all change and try new things from time to time, some suck when they do and some like hopesfall are still likable

  • look at lynard skynard, almost no one even exists from the original band and they still sell out concerts to thousands of rednecks a year

  • @idontgiveaFUQ nonsense dude. Jay was was in the band for 3/5 albums, all of which in my opinion were way better than Frailty of Words and No Wings to Speak of. i think if you bring skill to a band simply being present from the band's inception doesn't matter. for the namesake of the band? sure, i suppose, even though Jay did the name more justice than many of the original members did. all the same, new name it is then. LoL

  • Deftones > This

  • opinion lol

  • by far best hardcore band ever

  • I can't explain too.Make me think about too many thingsssss !!!

  • amazing, i cant explain

  • The only tab I can find for this is on bass, I know it cant be that hard to figure out, but id rather have the tab. Need a link!

  • Legion of doom made this song even better :)

  • august burns red makes these guys look like pussy shit.

  • no one was comparing them in the first place dipshit. i like august burns red, do i say they make these guys look like pussy shit? no, if you dont like this then dont listen faggot. theyre two different types of music, deal with it.

  • your comment makes you look like your mom shit

  • these guys are one of abrs main influences. so shut the fuck up.

  • It is a differance beetwen mainstream bands today and back then. Even the 90s had great mainstream music in form of grunge . Today the mainstream music is a brainless and lifeless music, made only to feed pockets. And maiden were never mainstream if you wanna know, they were and are a very popular metal bands that united many metalheads but never were a mtv friendly band like many 80s bands. They were milions of shitty pop and glam bands at this time, which you cant compare with maiden.

  • so true

  • How you can listen to this song and make brainless fucking comments like it is incredible. GTFO.

  • pop metal. i ask myself many times: how can it be that heavy metal become so fuckin pathetic and gay. I hope the "trendcore" will fall very soon and die like nu metal once.

  • such and ignorant idiot.

  • Please don't tell me you're one of the people that thinks that rock music is "gay" if there isn't mostly screaming in it, or if there's any melody in it.

And "trendcore"? Since when has Hopesfall been a popular, "trendy" band?

  • I listen to rock music and metal for decades. I saw everything from grunge to nu metal and now metalcore. Every trend fellt so fuckin quick. When i wanna listen to rock music with some passion i listen to Alice in chains or fuckin Doors or somethin and when i want to listen somethin heavy, i put a PanterA record or Black Sabbath and many many other great bands. Metal has been always something that was a fuckin opposite to the mainstream music.

  • Until metal became mainstream music, one of the biggest bands in the world, Maiden, can draw hundreds of thousands of fans to the right gig, and you don't call that mainstream? Anyone who is one of the biggest bands in the world right now should technically be part of the group called "mainstream".

And what about what is mainstream in the world of metal? What then?

  • @agolden847 not really unless you mean Iron maiden. They have to be one of those bands that is there on a lot of computers that listen to a type of music.

Plus who gives a fuck. Whether they are really rare or really popular bands are good either way. There's not one band that lost t heir touch and if you think a band has it's only because it was never your type of music to begin with.

  • bahahaha, pantera??? your tyring to school people on metal and you name drop pantera??? You have no idea

  • why ? because pantera is not fuckin "evil" for you? The 90´s had great metal bands, including Pantera, which influenced all fuckin sorry ass trendCore bands today! But please mr. coolness, teach me! what do you wanna name? bring me the emozont or "im a fuckin pig" " aha "evil" deathcore ?

  • Absolutely agree with you dude. I love music for what it is, not the brand name that people assign to it. I like a lot of old stuff, and I even like a lot of new stuff (post hardcore, etc.) but we should never forget the past influences, because this type of music would never have existed without it. Just because people want to act emo and scream (or if they choose not to, for that matter) doesnt mean theyre more intense or more talented in any way.

  • @Grabash666 bring me the emozont

    bahahaha

  • i love this band... its all good stuff..

  • And wow, their drummer looks like he is just dead. It looks like he isn't even playing.

  • I still think Satellite Years is their absolute best.

  • broke up a while ago. it really sucks...been my favorite band since the early 2000's "metalcore" wave. not calling them metalcore, but god how i miss me some Hopesfall:(

  • Are these guys still around?

  • Potentinal new EP in 2010.

  • Dude, where did you hear this?? Don't bullshit me 'bout this, hahahaha :P

  • i thought they broke up

  • @lobster272

there are no original band members anymore. over time, as one original left another was added to replace him. now, they just aren't the same anymore.

  • o. thats why they kinda suck now.

  • Yeah, they broke up in 2008.

  • cool song!!!

    listen NAENIA-fight the pressure

  • some please upload their album A Types!

Can't find the songs anywhere.. :(

  • try searching the pirate bay, lol

  • Comment removed

  • <3 Hopesfall. LOD does a great remix of it.

  • Owh yeah!

    :)

  • HAHAHAHAHA that was really a FUNNY comment!!!!

  • @ChrisgoesHC

    I agree with you.

  • LOL oh really?

    It's actually not.

    Point out how it is.

  • who the fuck cares what genre it is

    it's a good ass song

    stfu and listen!

  • this isn't bad but No Wings to Speak Of and The Frailty of Words were much better for Hopesfall IMO

  • this is post hardcore, not screamo lol

  • i hate the term screamo. such a misused word.

  • anything that has screaming is automatically called screamo

  • ???... Not Realy Its Post hardcore...

  • ? i said SCENE kids think everything is screamo NOT myself. i know its post-hardcore

  • thats the idiot way of thinking about it.

  • scene kids think everything is screamo

  • Totaly agree!

  • they havent strayed as much as alot of other bands i can think about. i'm with the one guy i like all genres but almost every band that survives for any real length of time changes there sound a little with each record, i mean it might be a bad example but look at blink 182, ten years ago they were worth listening to and they havent had a good album in atleast 8 years lol this is what happens to bands they have to try to come up- with new and different things to keep and gain new peoples interes

  • haha the drummers like "damn im bored, when's this song gonna be over, fuck it im gonna go play the bending!" :D

but i really like A-types, i know that most old fans dont agree with me, but it could be much much worse. at least we still have their old stuff forever

  • this band used to mean the world to me when i heard about them way back during their Satellite Year days.

they were an amazing live band as well.

    Fuck Trustkill.

  • need more bands like this

  • interesting

  • ur lame if u say u cant listen to rap cuz it will change who u are....i mean in a way i feel u on the tip that music kinda makes a person who they are but i listen to everything and u can tell by the clothes i wear but nott by who i am as a person

i keep my mind and ears open when it comes to music cuz its so hard to find GOOD stuff these days...any genre

  • i didnt think that i would like this song after i heard Legion of Dooms mash up, but i was wrong. this song is pretty cool

  • Jay is an amazing singer

  • it sucks so much, because they sound like glassjaw or whatever. SUCKS

  • this is the kinda of band im kinda in

  • You are a fucking idiot :)

  • I'm happy. I thought I was going back to liking soft/alternative stuff. This really makes me feel better... Cuz it means I'm not. It means I'm going back to screamo!

  • which is where you're going wrong... you wont be beheaded for liking more then one genera... rofl.

  • Hah, I do like more than one genre. Just not soft stuff, and I really dont want to start liking rap. (Btw, I meant to click reply, but I accidently gave you a thumbs down...)

  • whats wrong with liking rap?

I love all music except techno cause its too repetative. but enjoying all styles of music idnt going to make you less of a person.

  • I never said there was anything wrong with it. It's sort of hard to explain... it's just not me. The music I listen to influences who I am more than anything else... and that wouldnt be good if I started liking rap...

  • Lol - this is hardly screamo.

  • Hah, I found out what real screamo was when I went to camp. I still can't listen to that... But this is a great song, great band, screamo or not.

  • Indian Summer / Tristan Tzara / (good, old local band) The Critic.

    Check 'em out son.

  • I love the way he goes from screaming into normal singing... Its sounds so awesome!

And his voice is like super freakin'amazing!

    I Love This Band!

  • A bit like a heavier version of Funeral for my Friend

  • good

  • did anyone know that there's a NEW FORMER HOPESFALL member band called Contrails . Search for it on youtube! can't wait to hear more of them, cuz all this fancy new singing stuff is boring and sold out....

  • i hadnt heard of them till i heard legion of doom's mash up of this song and i loved them there

    but now im addicted

    :D

  • Me too XD

  • suck!

  • gross is farting on ur hand then licking it :D

  • that's gross? I was in the process of doing that when I read your comment =(

  • lol i like hahah its an interesting hobby try getting sum1 else to fart on ur hand then lick it 4 a variety of flavors

  • OR you could fart on your hand lick it. have your friend fart on it. then have him lick it. THEN you lick it. it would be a sensation to the tastebuds

  • HOPESFALL NEEDS TO GET BACK TOGETHER! and....does anybody know of any websites that has bass tabs for this song?

  • u dont need tabs. this song is easy. just tune it to drop d and youll figure it out.

  • gross

    but the ,music was good

love No wings to speak of

  • That's not gross dude, to each his own, and it was their ambition that came directly from their beliefs which made their music so passionate and inspiring...

and you don't have to agree with their beliefs to recognize this fact and enjoy their music, because good music is good music

  • true dat

and I do enjoy their music

    well

    frailty and no wings anyaway

  • hopesfall is christian ??????

so when I listen to No Wings to Speak of

(the only the record I own and listen to)

    im listening to christian

    ????????????

can you please reply to this or message me or watever about this PLEASE

  • for The Frailty of Words and No Wings to Speak of they were considered a christian band, but they stopped considering themselves a christian band after The Satellite Years and after they lost Doug.

and i agree, No Wings to Speak of is by far their best release.

  • i agree hopesfall's earlier stufs was an huge impact on the harcore scene with satellite years and No wings to speak of but i actually enjoyed the a types album too. i didnt really like magnetic north though

  • The Satellite years was best album ever made in the Hardcore scene, they have now disappeared what a shame, I was amazed by that album. They lost the intensity and anger.

Now just another emo cash cow, what a shame.

  • I agree, tha satelite years was the bet album ever made in the hardcore scene.

  • Sounds good, though I like early Hopesfall better.

  • actually Joshua Brigham he was the guitarist was the only original

  • this is the best video ive seen in my life no joke

  • I miss this band so much......

  • BOO trustkill!!

  • great band was for really

  • pretty impressive song

  • hey did u guyz kno that "icarus" is abouts a greek kid who tried to a escape an island with wax and feather wings but flew so high they melted from the heat of the sun and he plunged to his death in the water below?? i thought it was kinda cool. =]

  • seriously...? i thought his name was something else....

  • it was prison tower, but close enough, awesum song =D

  • great band

  • this is radd!--x

  • hopesfall used to be a christian band. Once they started changing members, everything else changed.

  • awesome! amazing! God bless Hopesfall!

  • Yeah. Just like Underoath, As I Lay Dying, etc...

  • is it just me or does someone else think too that define the great line (underoath) sounds really inspired by hopesfall especially satellite years?

  • yeah Hopesfall and Underoath also sound quite similaur sometimes.

  • hopesfalll...

    simpleneteme enkanta

    hohohohoho

aunk me gusta mas la de the ones

  • i love the singing voice :]

and i don't think that Hopesfall are typical Screamo or something else.

They just play good music! Why care about genres?

  • HOLY SHIT! I had not heard this song in so long.. :/

  • true but o well

  • Learn the definition of emo and screamo before showing your ignorance. Thanks.

  • hahaha exactly

  • your ears are just fucked up.. it sounds like hopesfall to me..

  • except they were one of first to do it

  • So true. This stuff gets so old...

  • they are pretty awesome, but i agree i like thier core stuff a little more than this side

  • a kickass song for sure!!!

  • agreed x10

  • I came to this video because I wanted to hear an example of Hopesfall - I like it!

  • well..there's really 2 sides of hopesfall...this is the latter side...they were much heavier before this album.

Both sides are pretty kickass but this album "A-Types" is pretty lacking..the following album Magnetic North is badass tho.

  • So, do you think you could tell me exactly what happened between Hopesfall and trustkill?

  • this album was average. magnetic north was fucken gold. satteilt years was ok but pretty much a different band

  • i agree, the album "no wings to speak of", end of an era (the song) is the hopesfall i remember. Actually saw these fellas open up for juliana theory and something corporate in 02 at bogarts in cincy. they were great! they have sold out like eighteen visions did with Obesssion.

  • haha, remembered this song, so kickass!

  • i like death merol but this is a great song dudess!

  • i had never listened this song, i like it.

  • me too..xD

  • cant get along with jays voice.

the change is so huge compared to the sat. years.

i dont like it here. no way.

miss the old stuff. dana walker <3

  • dont.....bullshit

  • sooooooo right wow lmao

  • idk i guess i kinda didnt care on this one ^-^

  • love this song... ^,..,^

  • fuck i love this song so much :D:D:D

  • lol why post comments on music??? everything just ends up in either "fuck you" or "****** rules! \m/^0^\m/

  • I agree. People's enthusiasm sometimes gets out of hand.

    Just enjoy the music.

  • their enthusiasm for music=their enthusiasm for ballsacks in their faces as children.
