A self-defined feminist once quoted to me that 'Patriarchy' means taking men and their values as the social standard and ideal. I cannot find a better definition of 'Feminism'. Some bosses were yellers, micro-managers, and some very good. They do not want to work in the many difficult and dangerous jobs men work in. Your right to a point, Susan Anthony and Elizabeth Stanton were opposed to abolitionists after they found out about the 15th amendment wasn't going to support womens sufferage. So yes, feminists still fail every time a law is written. Hell, feminists didn't even regard black women as equals until the 70's

I find it comic that nearly every YouTube feminist videos are made by men - and usually involve someone staring point-blank into the camera, reciting yet another repetitive contribution to the post-post-post-post-post-modern movement.
For centuries while men were risking their lives in mines, fishing at sea, as lumberjacks or discovering new lands, women were comfortable, warm and secure at home raising kids and protected from foreign invasions by male soldiers. What got us out of the stone age is patriarchy and without the technology that men invented, this is where we would go back.
Also: What got women out of the home and in the workplace is not feminism but the pill (invented by men) which significantly reduced the size of families and technologies (also invented by men) which allowed work to be done without much human physical strength.
Even today women largely shun traditional male jobs like construction, woodcutting and mining because they are physically demanding and dirty.
Today feminists whine constantly, treat men like former slavers, born rapists, deprive them of their kids through unfair trials, and generally refuse to admit that women of the past were very grateful not to have to do the dangerous jobs men used to do to provide for their families.
So yes, like meth138 says WE GOT STABBED IN THE BACK and a Matriarchal society without the technology men invented would definitely go back to the stone age.
I think the best radical solution is to install a collective state. One that makes a safety net for everyone, and provides jobs for those unemployed; in addition to providing health care for all its citizens, education for all children, and living wages for all mothers.
In addition, overthrow the church, and all religious institutions that sponsor patriarchy, such as Christian, Jewish, and Islamic sects.
The sexes aren't the same, so its hard to make them equal.
Its okay to feel that women should be the dominant sex. Most men feel they should, and they have done a lot of damage to the world.
The only thing I hate is when certain women's organizations try to outlaw anime, and tell other countries to stiffen their sex laws, when there is plenty of problems here to take care of.
It's good to talk about the definition of feminism- without understanding of WHAT it is, you cannot have a productive debate or conversation or anything about it! Too many people slam it without understanding what it is and what most feminists stand for. Most feminists are not radical and "hate men". I'm a liberal feminist. THANK YOU :-)

This implies two things, that it is the fault of men, and if it is not the fault of men, then men did nothing to rectify it.

When I say I'm against feminism I'm often attacked for being against equality. The fact is, legal equality has already been achieved. What feminism has become now is an excuse to use the government to redistribute wealth from men to women through affirmative action like programs. Feminists answer to what they perceive as discrimination is to use the government to discriminate against men. Once feminism stopped being about equal rights it became a hate movement.

Adding to this - the general discourse I have had in current and past workplaces are very much the same (shouting from the female). Todays culture favours women over and above men. I will never support females (and men) who uphold rubbish like this.

Some bosses were yellers, micro-managers, and some very good. Maybe those of us that seek equality and happy work environments shouldn't be members of a group that puts a gender, race, etc. in the name. Feminism was never supposed to be this way, but people have molded it into a discriminatory group perhaps because of what the name implies.

B) a greater % of those women working, work only part time
C) the top 10 deadliest jobs are all 95% or more peopled by men
D) men account for 95% of all the on-the-job deaths: 4750male vs 250female annual. That's more than our war casualties for 4 years in Iraq (in one year of work).

Glad to hear you're in the real world. I've been in finance ops mgmt in the US...GM, Toyota & Nissan, etc. What I mean is that women in general don't want true equal treatment with men. They do not want to work in the many difficult and dangerous jobs men work in. They want equal pay but are unable to complete the physical requirements of many manual labor, military, police, fire type jobs. I say make it 100% equal. No preferences, excuses or anything else. That's fair.

How about preferential hiring, promotion and salary administration in corporate environments that treats less qualified women candidates favorably vs. more experienced and qualified males? This also applies to downsizing in which less qualified women are retained while more qualified men are laid off to assure there are "enough" women retained, regardless of competence.

You are overlooking the facts here. That men more willingly work in in nastier jobs, that's just how it is. Once a significant amount of women step up to the plate to take on dangerous jobs then that will change, but as it stands men account for over 90% of on the job deaths per year. While I agree that we should accomadate women more, if they can't handle the job they don't deserve it. And the point is moot in the end because as I said, women don't like working dangerous jobs.

Your right to a point, Susan Anthony and Elizabeth Stanton were opposed to abolitionists after they found out about the 15th amendment wasn't going to support womens sufferage. The other thing is the 19th Amendment got passed with a clear and perfectly written law, but did black women did have their vote secured until the Civil Rights Act of 1964. So yes, feminists still fail every time a law is written. Hell, feminists didn't even regard black women as equals until the 70's

And it was in fact the 14th amendment, in which the word 'white' was repealed at the end of the 19th century, which Anthony was happy about,, but the men at that point didn't think the time was ripe to repeal the word ' male' and offered great resistance to this.
