Listen.......The only engine who had a distributor and oil pump connected together in FRONT of the block was Buick...And by the way Buick 455cid was the lightest block and has 510lbs of torque stock...Even in 1974,but,without the horsepower...
woogie, no they didnt. You're wrong. The Buick 455 and Buick 350 are different engines. The Olds 455 was a taller block 350, so its technically a "bigger block"
Woogie, you apparently have no idea what you are talking about. I have a 72 Skylark with a small block 350. The GSX had a 455 big block. Know what you're talking about before you make yourself look like an ignorant fool.
You do not what in the hell you're talking about. I have owned my 1970 GS Stage 1 for 40 years and I know Buicks front to back. First, the 350 Cu. In. Buick block is not the same block as the 455 Cu. In. Block. The exterior appearance is very similar, however, the bore x stroke configurations are different.
Any engine cubic inch configuration past (390 cu. in.) is considered Big Block by NHRA classification, regardless of how the exterior appearance is.
I LOVE THAT CAR!!! as soon as i get my license i'm picking up an auto trader and searching though until i find it, although i have a few years until then (about 3 or 4)
good luck lol, this is my dream car, and they only made a little less then a thousand, your best bet would be to get a skylark or gs and make a clone car, that is what i plan on doing
My dream car

I have 2 buicks. 1 is a 70' stage one auto with a 455 and bucket seats. The 455 stock puts out over 400 hp.
