First of all, you need to be more aware, cuz if u werent gettin hit by those shadows you could of been able to survive the 7 stack which means more casting which means more dps. This deserves a 1 out of 5. And frost does wonders here too. i pull 13k dps as frost as well as never needing a cloud.

he is loosing lot of DPS coz exist better spell rotation...arcane blast-arc. barrage-arcane blast-arcane barrage-between arcane missiles when talent proc...if he has talents on fire blast good to use too...coz these spells r insrant...and arcane blast buff has 15 sec duration...thats why is good to use insants as many time as possible

Depending on how you play the mage. I never saw any fire mage beating me into ground. I have a guild mate who is specced fire and does approx. the same amount of dmg as I am doing. But his gear is way better. But to be able to compare more clearly I lack the raid experience with more fire mages.

He's one of the best mages I've seen so far. It's just the fact that fire doesn't make more damage than arcane, they're pretty much on the same level. In some fights fire does more 'cause the dots allow a different gameplay in fights with movement and arcane is particulary strong in fights with damage buffs. Have a look at elitistjerks for comaprisons, fire was never higher ranked than arcane in any instance.

We don't raid naxx anymore and I joined the guild when Ulduar came out so I didn't get a chance to compare. It's senseless discussing about such high dps anyway cause there are approx. 1% of the players out there reaching this amount. It won't also tell anything about which specc is more suitable.. fights like patchwork don't exist in Ulduar and DPS alone are not important.

It's not a big deal for an arcane mage. With the speed and damage buff + Icy Veins and a lot of haste I got about 0,3 secs cast time for an Arcane Blast, hitting critical for 25-50k and non-critical for about 10-15k. Fire mages won't ever nearly reach this burst damage, they don't have the cd's for it. But fire eventually is easier to come to the top with (in damage done overall data).

The full T8.5 fire mages in my raid do about 15-22k dps in this fight. Yesterday i got up to 51k dps with arcane. That's the difference^^

However, I have to regenerate mana more often than fire mages that's right.

Dps means nothing if your total damage done is low. Arcane has always had bloated dps because it is a front-loaded spec; there are no dots.

You did 30% of the dps in this fight? It doesn't matter. In reality you placed fourth on the dps meter. There was no wanding during times you were waiting for a shadow crash, and like the poster above said, you had to spend time regenerating mana. Time that, sure, didn't affect your dps, but it did affect your overall damage done.
