Don't call this a theremin!!! It's a simple astable multivibrator with a LDR and it produces a very ugly sound like most cheapest Chinese toys.
What Leon Theremin invented in 1919 was very different: Heterodyning RF oscillators which allowed to play melodies over more than three octaves with a pleasant voice which would give him the same musical expression as his Cello.
