i have similar kit will be doing a review of it in the next few days if you wanna check it out, only real thing bout your kit id say is the swiss army knife if you have had a long time you may wanna put another in your kit, i lost one once and it was only then i realised how much sentemetal value it had.
I did find it but i never used it out doors again. but around good kit
Yeah ... I plan to follow suit as my current "plastic dry-box" pocket kit is jammed so full it barely closes ...
... One mod that I would make to YOUR system is to go to REI and get a large vinyl zip-loc dry pouch (the kayaking type, with a lanyard attchmnt) and keep the whole kit water-proofed (submersible) in my cargo pocket (or my piggy-pack).
Nice vid you move right along and don't over explain something to death. And since when doesn't wearing bug repellent constitute a survival tool? Let me put it to you this way, Lyme Disease and Rock Mountain Spotted Fever by Ticks, and Malaria, West Nile Disease, Dengue Fever AKA "Break Bone Fever", all transmitted by mosquito are nothing to laugh at, hence you made a smart and reasonable choice.
Awesome vid, teo ~ Very nice use-of-the-pouch. I've carried the same one for a while now - prefer the mini-bug-out style grab -n- go kits. fits great in a cargo pocket or flight suit pocket and can easily be tailored to suit any mission, event or use. I actually have several set-up with only minor variance in contents ~ an EDC, a mission & a survival/camp/hike style. keep up the great vids... And Let's go Runnin' & Gunnin' in MI. We just need to ID the Wolverine TNP loyalists & get in on!!
@downstube .... I agree....this pouch rides in my alice pack survival kit....it's just a portable kit that I can take out and carry if I don't want all the weight. Thanks for commenting.
What do you recommend for the pocket knife sharpener. I've tried a lot of them and am never satisfied. By the way, the Maxpedition organizer is less than 2X the price of yours, but gives 2x the pocket organization (with elastics, etc.) You might want to add tick tweezers. Also 4 mil contractor bags can be poncho, but also solar still, and also tube tent, etc.
@mrmonkeyman50 ....yeah, I'm cheap......and, believe me, there are tweezers in the first aid pocket and tweezers on both Swiss Army Knives....I HATE TICKS! ....The cheap Smith's sharpeners aren't great, but it's a survival kit..I figured anything is better than nothing if I don't have room for a good stone.
Rockler is a woodworking company I buy knives and sharpeners from. I like that they have stores I can walk into and ask questions.
DMT Dia-Sharp (diamond impregnated)
The red one, is my favorite. It almost the finest grade one they carried. One step finer would have been the finest grit, and it looked like a mirror. The red one is still gritty, but fine enough to put a keen edge on something.
I paid 22.99 for the credit card sized one. $100 for a big one.

you should add a space blanket

cool, but my vote would go into a backpack or fanny pack that has a little bit more room.
