It's aggravating to speak German because less than 1/2 our squad knows it. People who put that much time into their impression are serious about it.. Dosent mean we all have to be.
@tatetalk Well if you're going to reenact GERMAN, Speak the damn language. That's the way my unit rolls, and I think that's how it should all be. and yeah, you're right, we all can't speak German but that's why you learn the language....Take the extra initiative..
@MsgtRowan420497 Ya but some people like the whole idea of reenacting but dont want to learn a whole new language just to do it. Ya you should learn a couple phrases or commands, but not the whole language just to get involved in something. You really limit your roster when you add something like that to recruitment.
I prefer the smock for camo. Early divisions such as Wiking would probably have many smocks, while late war units such as the 29.SS would not have access to as many.
so you guys have a oak leaf camo tunic, normal wool trousers, and your field gear. what are MOSt of you guys wearing for camo? do you prefer smocks or standard field grey tunics?
@ZACKBAGNALLVIDEO I know in my unit we portray a later period unit, so we have flexibility of Tunics, Smocks or greatcoats and can pass it of as shortages in supplies even though everyone tends to opt for the smock (Although I do love my M40 greatcoat). But in battles we generally wear just our tunics, since it apparently seems more uniformed and makes ourselves more 'flexible' in the field.
I am from this Unit. One-we can get rounds out to 400 meters, two- we fire a "safe" projectile that is launched by a fuse and black powder, three- we are from the east coast and went to the torrance event, four-It is not porrly accurate and he has a great idea and can now fire the thing cold and get it there accuratly. :)
