  • i tried it and failed soo badly. i ruined 2 of my controllers! but they were both old so it doesnt matter. i dropped like 2 of my lights and the other ones wont turn on! OMG! but im gonna try again with a thinner soldering gun and thinner solder.

  • @SmartieZarary His wattage reccomedations are bullshit it should be no more than a 15 watts iron and use hte smallest solder you can find. Go to a computer service shop and ask there

  • hey watsup bro i was wondering what type of soldering iron do you use cus i have a 25 watt and it sucks

  • How much would it cost for a batman logo with solid yellow buttons? I'm in the U.S.

  • you sell out the country ?

I am Brazilian and was interested in buying your products

  • @majorc2oh We do not ship outside of the US and Canada.

  • @MyCustomXbox Even México??

  • i cant unscrew my remote there is a small metal rod in the middle of the groove can i get a bit that will unscrew it?

  • @MrBustamoves the tool required to take apart your controller is called a torn t8 security driver. we sell them on our mycustomcontroller website. check it out!

  • ive been sitting here for an hour trying to get the first one on >.> , i have it soldered on with the polarity corect but it wont light up with the others

  • @MyCustomXbox ive heard there is a different layout for old and new controllers will it be ok to do wireless layout because ive done some research and i found out that my controller is a cg controller

  • Hey what brand or kind of solder do you use?

  • wait does it hav to be a plug in controller

  • 2:28 - How to change the LED

  • i took off one of the leds from a controlelr and all of the base solder came off, now i cant get the led to stay on.. how can i fix this?

  • I got all of them off but I accidentally soldered off one of the metal bases under it (the little squares of metal that hold the led) so the led does not light, but I know it works. What can I do? Use solder to replace it?

  • can you just pull out the old leds

  • @n8ivemafia1 noooo.

  • @MyCustomXbox okayim havin trouble with this and one of the 2 points for the leds are filled with solder

  • what kind of soder do you use?

  • wat kinda of iron like how many watts ?

  • @ConvexControllers He's suggested 25w and 40w.... my advice would be neither. If you have to ask the question your not very experienced soldering, so the best bet is a low wattage iron such as a 12w (so you dont end up burning the board or anything). Most smaller wattage irons are made specifically for SMD soldering, and I use a 12w myself

  • I did this couple of days ago and my controller worked just fine and today I changed out the colour of two led's and when I turned on the controller nothing happened exept after a while it got really hot, please help !

  • Thanks for the great vid! just got my LEDs swapped out.

  • Could you do a tutorial for leds in the ABXY buttons (with an on/off switch)? That would be so cool!!

  • Is it safe to touch the green part of the circuit board with the soldering iron?

  • Now when you say "Bath them in solder" do you need soldering Flux?

  • Your still selling on your website right?

  • @DoctorBoingo yes :)

  • yu said 25 watt iron in the video... but up there^ you said 40... which is it?

  • @swicket777 SORRY!!! ITS 25.

  • @swicket777 Yo mate i heard from lots of reviews that you can use a 40 Watt soldering iron but just use it carefully and dont bathe it in soldering iron like he said ^ , also its really good to remove the LEDS aswell as putting them back on as the iron dries faster. but remember dont bathe it too much in iron. Please thumbs up this comment so people can see that there is no difference. Also i heard that 25Watt soldering iron can be quite weak at getting the LEDs to go back on the circuit board.

  • @Oozmaan I have done this with 8-10 controllers now, and the only real setback i have had is not hot tweezers. Regular tweezers are bulky and get in the way. Also, Bathing it in solder can be risky seeing as i have lost a few connection points on the board it self.

  • Will a 15 Watt Iron do the job or do I need more watts. Please respond

  • @TheClimaxModz you need a 25w

  • I bought 40 Watt Soldering Iron? Good?

  • Hey I'm really new to soldering and would really like to know what company you reccomend for soldering irons.

  • do you guys ship to Sweden or any where else in EU ?

  • Hey can you use wire glue? please message back

  • I tried to change out the LEds on my controller. and Im sure i screwed something up, the lights after I soldered them didnt turn on. But when I turned them around thinking I got the Pos and neg backwards they still wouldnt light up... any thoughts?

  • Im about to buy a new controller and i was wondering if i can send it to you to do the L.E.D lights because the first time i tried i burned the whole circuit board and messed it up?

  • i have a 15watt soldering iron from radio shack and then got Bernzomatic 4 oz. Leaded Solid Wire Solder from homedepot...I tried to float the led off but everytime i tried the led would still not come off.I also used flux..Do you think i need a higher watt soldering iron?

  • how many watts do you need?

  • @750966george 25w

  • @MyCustomXbox Whats The Name Of The Opening Song Its Awesomeeeeeee!!! Nice Video As Well Bro

  • Can somebody pleasee tell me where to buy a 40 watt soldering iron and supplies

  • @oHARVy dollar store

  • Good tut very very GOOD!!!!

  • hey thanks for telling me the wrong polarities, now i only have 3 working lights.

  • is this intensafire compatible?

  • MAKE SURE YOUR IRON IS HOTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!! haha

  • If i bought the lights and supplies from you guys then do you think a electronic repair place would fix it? Oh and do you have translucent blue thumbsticks and d-pads?

  • @TheOnyxTitan i really doubt they would know how. and no we only have the solid blue thumb sticks and d-pads

  • I have a question.. I had a 20 watt soldering iron and i was trying to solder some stuff on my controller and my motherboard, but the friggin iron wont even melt the solder wtf?? So I threw the iron away and baught a 40 watt soldering iron but am having the same problem??? What am i doing wrong??

  • @CallofDuty978 How long do you let it heat for?

  • u dont have steady hands

  • what would happen if u got a 60 watt soldering gun and change the leds on a controller and use the 60 watt soldering gun. will it fry bord

  • @MsROCKSTAR100000 i would use a 40 to be safe

  • what is the song in the beginning, please ?

  • Awww my LED's arnt bright

  • Hey, really nice video, but are you shure that 3:37 is corregt? Please respond because im just about doing this. Thanks.

  • @nameapplied You can't spray paint an LED...

Do you know how coloured light works?

  • @DuggsTube I think they are talking about spray painting the controller lol

  • I need to know how to fix the contact if one accidentally came off?

  • 5:00 LETS SOAK THIS BAD BOY IN SOLDER

  • must u use a soldering iron? could u use anything else?

  • @DrDoPpY

    Are you a fucking retard?

  • Can u make a tutorial on how to put LEDs in the buttons

  • Will it work the same with an evil controller

  • y no more new videos

  • does that work the same way it did for if your first player that light goes on but if your second player another light goes on

  • i have rosin core solder and it REFUSES to stick tot he board! ugh is there a better solder?

  • @KdrummerK what do you mean flux?

  • @NEWBSLAYER69 Flux is a paste or liquid used to prep metal surfaces for solder, flux helps solder stick to the surface suprizingly well, not expensive

  • @KdrummerK is that the stuff that comes with the intensafire?

  • Can you help mee! The solder came totally off the board! Is there a way to get it back on?

  • @NEWBSLAYER69 flux on the contacts then boil off the flux and solder should stick

  • @KdrummerK what do you mean flux? i need help! its not my controller.

  • whats the soldering iron your using?

  • this was my first time soldering. i got it to work, but i was very careful. it is not very hard to do but just make sure that you follow these instructions. thanks scogre!!!!

  • I cant find the .pdf on your site. is it still on there?

  • on time i played a video game

  • I did mine and it came out great. i just messed up on one led so i'm gonna order more cause i wanna do all my controlleres :)

  • i wouldnt even try to do this cause the controllers are like $50 and if u screw up their went $50

  • i just got an LED off and turned on the controller and it did but there was solder on the i think terminal so i tried to get it off and now the controller won't turn on.

DID I BREAK THE CONTROLLER OR WHAT???!!!

  • @BrotherofaGod4Lifwhat do you think

  • How much is a solder iron

  • show us how to get colours in the buttons(ABXY buttons)

  • what do i do if my contact point for the led light melted off.??

  • @estak321 Yeah that happened to me too. :(

  • would 30 watt soldering iron be okay?

  • i did it!

  • what is that iron thing

  • @waningbutthole that would be a soldering iron

  • Hey there is it normal if my leds dont bright alot with aa batterys plz help

  • @gypsynitro u probably hav da newer 360 wireless controller it would probably be brighter if u bought a wire 4 it

  • @aGruntNamedYayap Its a halo reach remote im not shour but when it rumbels the leds go crazy

  • @gypsynitro They are blue right?, blue smd's draw 3.0 - 3.3v, since a single aa battery is 1.5v you get the idea. also iv noticed when some people have rapid fire modded their controller the smd's pulsate because the rapid fire chip is drawing more power, if you don't use vibration in games, take em out, problem solved.

  • @xXVisionaryXo But my other remote has red leds and its super bright and it rumbels and the leds r normal and hen the battery is low its still normal

  • How much do you guys ask for a LED switch, just curious because I'm doing this to, but don't know wheiter I should ask 4€ for it or 86€.?

  • it would be cool if they were all green

  • @DemonPlasma your an idit..... :P

  • @DemonPlasma Whats the point

  • @DemonPlasma i thought about a monster energy controller :P

  • where can i buy th leds in the uk

  • @Helmstrer3000 llama.com

  • @lottie6789090 BTW its llamma.com

  • can i get the lights at radio shack?

  • @Rocky13Ray I doubt it. Order them off ebay and a set of tweezers for about $6 total. Also get the finest point for the soldering iron. It makes it easier to do.

  • it keeps pausing at 3:34

  • where do i buy soder?

  • will this work, please check it out and reply =D

    amazon(dot)co(dot)uk/Led-0603-60mcd-Blue-Clear/dp/B00418GDDA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1288004743&sr=8-1

  • hey i think your wireless layout diagram is backwards casue i did it just the way you said and screwed up 3 but then i switched them around just to see if they worded the other way and they did. or my wireless controller just has a layout of the wired one you have

  • @metrent3 Same thing happened to me the first time I did it to my controller

  • @h21j3 Hey, stfu.

  • i imagine if someone tried replacing all the leds on an afterglow controller

  • Man, i want to challenge myself to do this but i have a few question, can you list me the things i'll need and the total cost (dont post xbox 360 controller because i know that lol)? And plus, where do you get them and especially the LEDs, and what is the brightest type of LEDs?

  • i'll message you details: too big for reply!.

  • hi can anyone help me out here, i've been through 3 controllers this week and keep burning the contacts but my leds wont come off?

  • @TheTDdudes take alot of solder on your iron and just tap the contacts fast and when they are both melted you put the blob of solder on the led and wipe it off ;)

hope that helps ive done 2 controllers im now wrking on my xbox leds change them to blue :)

  • Hi, Great video and channel. I've recently opened a UK site and im starting LEDs. Do you think a 15 watt iron would work better. Apperently 15 watts is better for LEDs.

    Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • i have a 30 watts would that be ok

  • i went on your website and in the check out it says country the there is only two places united states and Canada but i live in uk (england). do u deliver to england or only united states and Canada. if u deliver to england how do i change it

  • @uk16eng I can do this for you mate. I wont charge you for doing it. Let me know if your interested.

  • I'm scared to do this

  • @musikluver19 buy a controller that doesnt work properly but still turns on and test it on that

I have done this 20 odd times and yes it is very fiddly i have lost the contacts on several boards that is the worst that can happen.

YOU CANNOT RUIN YOUR CONTROLLER FROM THIS, JUST THE LEDS

  • how many volts is that soldering iron?

  • If I were to send your website a controller could you install led's? I have watched your painting videos and I just ordered the paint masks so i can paint my controller. So if I send you in a custom painted controller could you install led's to it? Let me know thanks.

  • Do you put LED's under the buttons too?

  • is this the song thats on beer pong?

  • ok i got a crazy question. Do they make leds that flash between red and blue that are that small?

  • finally! some good quality!

  • thats sweet. i would personally have all one colour, im waiting for some of those LEDs to be delivered so i can change them on my console to all blue

  • Song at the beginning?

  • the polarity on the wireless controller are not the same so don't go by what he said

  • I heard soldering iron and just stopped the video... :P
