All I'm saying is that if I were to buy the DVD, how is this an appropriate preview? I can't even tell if she's a good artist, or one that I would be interested in

It's a clip from a DVD, it would be stupid to show the whole session, since they want you to buy it.

Excerpts are far too short. Or in the wrong stage for an excerpt. At least show us midway in the painting stage, for the same amount of time.
I don't see the benefit these clips serve, when the painting is just starting out.
