I love Louis CK, and the first time I heard this it really reminded me of Death of A Salesman. But the germ of this concept is based on a hedonistic outlook. Where as the progression of society conversely comes from a more humanistic sentiment. The paradox of what Louis is saying is that without discontentment with technology, human progression would stop. If people had been happy with the horse and cart then we wouldnt have the car. Capitalism sets the correct tempo for progress.

No, that's just what you want him to say. Louis actually addressed the whole Dane Cook thing but for some reason it was taken off youtube. He said he had no problem with Dane and that people were blowing it out of proportion. The only thing remotely bad he said about Dane was at the end when the radio hosts forced him to say something bad which was "Fuck Dane Cook, he's a cunt" but even that was in a joking manner. He doesn't hate him as a comedian, person, or otherwise. If so, then prove it.
