Wait, is that Wade ? THE WADE that can't close a game in MIAMI!? Phantom fouls?! OMGWTF. THE WADE that got pulled off in a wheelchair because of a SHOULDER?
No disrespect to Mourning or the Heat winning the title, but the NBA is so full of themselves to have a trophy presentation on the floor when the visiting team wins the title. Fuck you, NBA.
@sunsaz hey asshole the mavericks had a parade planned after game 2 of the nba finals so fuck you...the heat team should haved mooned all the dallas fan in their own court after the won the tittle.....BIATCH !!!!
Well, adding to the fact that he lost both his kidneys (his brother gave him one) he suffered a severe injury on one of his knees so he decided to retire.
He was also getting old. His rookie year was the 92-93 season.
Zo is the man! He gave the game to much of his heart and soul. I loved him as a player and that year he finally got his ring that was a great year 4 the NBA!
I was really happy to see mourning get his title. He really deserves it after the health issues and being so close so many times. ALONZO MOURNING 1 of the best (if not the bet ) shotblockers in history. If u go inside wen mourning is in U gonna get PACKED.
did you ever watched dennis rodman, charles oklaey?i dont think so not saying that zo is not intense but kg is more of a chiuaua then intense player its not about screaming and talking its about doin it SHM
did kg ever get in a fight with 7.0 dude?i dont think so
I remember this series. Dallas may have been the better team on paper, but they took waaaay too many jump shots. Wade did get alot of calls, but he was aggressive and went to the rim. Dirk was all jump shot, jump shot, jump shot. Not gonna get too many foul calls if your mostly shooting jump shots.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Actually you and the video pretty much explain it. What's the point in driving to the rim if you'll just get hacked and goaltended with no call?
On the other hand, Wade was aggressive BECAUSE he knew he could do no wrong. He could travel, shove the forearm, etc. and get away with it every time. No wonder he was so damn confident!
Yea but come on...Dallas played soft...if they knew Wade was gonna keep attacking the rim, they should have smashed him hard. He was getting every call, so make him pay for it. Dirk played so soft this series it was embarrassing. The refs did suck, no doubt. But Dirk should have been ashamed of himself, being shut down by Haslem and Posey.
there's no way the "better team" can lose a 7 games series, except for maybe injuries, but as far as i can remember dirk jet damps jh and the crew were all fine. all the haters need to just except defeat already
Out of all the teams Mourning played for during his career, he was with Miami the longest. He wanted that Championship, and it shows in this game. It was as if he was playing for Charlotte or his first season with Miami back in the mid 90's.
caml17 your a dumb bastard! zo knew he only had a couple years left in his career and wanted to be on a competitive team, miami had a team that could win the ring and he deserved a ring, so why play in toronto dumbass?
zo, shaq, and mutombo are the last remaning great centers or even players from the last era. the nba has turned in to fast break small ball era now. Although it's better then slow downed 70 point game, having a big man who is not scared to get posterized and plays with fierce intensity is almost extinct. hopefully guys like howard, stoudemire, and oden will be the future guys
zo out played shaq! for those people that say wade won cause of shaq just look at the stats shaq didnt do anything. wade is a monster ,AND ZO TOO!!! GO HEAT BITHCES!!!!!
Maybe. He have had a few good games this year. The only person except JWill fans who wants him to stay is Riley. HEAT won 2006 because Riley can play with veterans like GP and ZO. Look at Wright. He has been with Miami for long now, but doesnt get much playing time, and that way he doesnt get to develop.
omg truly is one of the legendary performances. dallas = everything that is wrong with the soft present day nba. mourning = what's left of the glory days.
My favorite all time player. Absolutely one of the greatest performances in a short stretch ever. Definitely on the defensive end. What intensity he brings.
It's funny that Mavs fans talking about the refs giving Miami all the calls, yet they fail to mention Zo owning them in this game with five blocks, 10 for the entire Heat team! Wow, good job Dallas!
yeah, every Mavs fan bitches but the thing is miami played better. all thier key role players stepped up in this series. mourning was amazing, and they got good contributions from posey and walker
Just amazing performance and Im not even a heat fan. For Zo to play the way he did, on the biggest stage, after all he has been through, one kidney, having to take up to 40 pills a day for medication, just amazing.
Zo has always had the heart of a lion... what a warrior he has been, not to mention an inspiration. After all is said and done, championships are won by teams that step up big at crunch time; every time Zo stepped onto the court during last year's Finals, the Heat turned into a ferociously defending squad that gave away nothing easy. I won't say Dallas is/was soft, but it's hard to be as hard-nosed as Mourning... Mavs had no one to match his intensity.
Alonzo Mourning really deserve it, he was playing with heart, that was one of the best defensive perfomance I ever seen in a NBA final so far by a player..
zo is the best shot blocker in the nba. he averages about 6 blocks every 48 minutes, which is by far the best. he is my idol. How can a 36 year old veteran who had kidney disease be so intuitive on defense?
Just another REMINDER that the Mavs are NOT the best team in the NBA. Best teams win 7-game series and certainly don't blow a 2-0 series lead, especially in the biggest series of them all. You can talk and talk about "The Mavs are younger and more athletic than such and such", but this video proves that youth and athleticism aren't the key factors to an NBA championship.
holy crap...i didnt realize how mourning owned the mavs so badly. wow, 36 years old and he made those soft dallas players look PATHETIC. how did they even make it that far? lol i used to not like mourning but this just blew me away.
great vid, hey blondebomber why you say that they were goal tendings ?? which one was goaltending ? they were all clean swattings and you are just jealous because the heat clearly proved who was the better team.
None of them were fouls or goaltending. Zo DOMINATED the Mavs. It's a sad thing in the NBA when that weak Mavs stuff goes up uncontested. Thank heavens we have the prophet Alonzo to set things right.
Shut up with your obviously biased opinion. There are plenty of replays in that vid showing everyone of Mourning's blocks were clean. Take your belly aching to one of your support groups.
