Remember X-Men vs. Street Fighter, how Rogue had an attack where she could kiss the other fighter and "steal" one of his or her attacks, like Optic Blasts, Yoga Flame or whatever? Since Taskmaster's superpower is similar to hers (he studies you for a bit and can instantly perform or counter any of your attacks or defenses), wouldn't it be nice if he could borrow his opponents' moves in MvC3?

I'm not sure how that would work out in a Taskmaster vs. Amaterasu match, though. o.O

Its so funny thay people are saying Taskmaster looks like Moon knight.

Fact is that he was designed by the same guy who designed DCs Deathstroke.

If you look at the color scheme aside from his cloak, and mask you can see the resemblance .

A funny thing about that is that Deadpool is often compared to Deathstroke as well, because of his name. Wade/Slade.

Also throw in the fact that Taskmaster was the first villian Deadpool ran into in his 1997 comic series. They all have a history.

Taskmaster is kind've a strange choice, He's never been introduced in any other form of media other than Comics and Action Figures so it's interesting to see his personaity presented in videogame form. I see him as Marvel's Version of Edge Master or Shang Tsung. (in that he has the ability to copy other people's fighting styles, techniques and skill sets.)

Just a list of characters that build up Tasky's moveset in MvC3 for people who aren't familiar with him, some obvious, some not:

Punisher = the gun

Captain America = the shield

Black Knight = the sword

Spider-Man = "web" swinging

Hawkeye = bow and arrow

Moon Knight = in looks

^Taskmaster basically mixes the fighting styles of heroes he sees using his photographic memory. He's actually hired by some villains to give their henchmen lessons on how to fight and deal with the heroes.

His creator even said so. The only thing he has of MK is his moon projectiles(Which he doesn't have in the game). Get it right.

@VenomCortez Moon Knight has had the hooded cloak since his first appearance. In regards to the character's original origins, he researched a LOT of heroes/villains. Who is to say that he didn't draw inspiration from Moon Knight? Given his history it wouldn't be that much of a shock. Also, while the end result of the original Taskmaster costume might be something unique, it's pretty obvious that Tasky's also draws inspiration from other characters like Captain America and Hawkeye as well.

Given how Taskmaster blatantly rips off from other Marvel heroes, yeah, it's not far-fetched at all that they're similar in some aspects, whether it's by design of the artist or by accident. Of course, I'm not saying that he's similar to Moon Knight in terms of character or fighting style, I think some people, like yourself, misinterpreted that.

For example, he can do the exact motions for a spell Dr. Strange does, but he won't be able to actually do the spell because he hasn't had the years of training. Also, if he gets attacked by someone he hasn't seen fight before, they'll give him a bit of trouble until he gets a good look at that person's fighting style. He can't copy Deadpool's fighting style for example, due to Deadpool being crazy and unpredictable in a fight.

@MrOlliester I dont know how his abilities will be shown in this game....but once his muscles can copy the motion and it is humanly possible he can do it by just looking.he can execute and learn complex MartialArts by watching someone do the move without training.If it's Physically possible.all he has to do is see the move and he'll be able to Execute it.so far i've seen Captain America and SpiderMan moves.we'll have to w8 and see if he has anymore or if he has an actual move to mimic others.

@MrOlliester That's correct. As long as its humanly possible, if Taskmaster sees it, he can do it. He can have the kung-fu skills of Bruce Lee, the agility of a ninja, or the card-playing tricks of a Poker master, but he can't shoot Hadoukens just because he saw Ryu do it.

He's actually a pretty fun character, and he looks like a great addition to MvC3.

@MrOlliester In one comic, he was actually able to have limited super-speed (he watched a couple martial arts videos in fast-forward). It was too much for his body too handle though; which proves that he can do some superhuman-esque feats, but the wear and tear would take a toll on him. As for the web thing, yeah, he basically copies the motion. To make up for the lack of webbing, he uses a grappling hook instead.
