I think that its simply their old trick called "quick buck title exploitation" they did it sooo many times with so many franchises, and they wanted to do it to DB as well, thanks god that they failed at the box office :)
However I always believed that the movie adaptation based on cartoon can only ruin its feel even if thestory is followed accordingly. However CGI could help it.

I hated DBE.. It was a piece of shit. I grew up with DBZ and i remember the first time I saw DBZ I was hooked when freeza stabbed krillin with his horn i was about 12 and i was like HOLY SHIT. I'm 21 now and still love the fuck out of DBZ... but DBE can suck a dick and die.
If they WERE to make some sort of sequel, i'd be pissed, but if they handed the rights to someone else to make it more professional, more true to the manga (maybe a few slight tweeks), and better actors, then i'd watch it

Personally i liked the idea of having a live action movie, i thought and still do think that if the movie were to follow the anime/manga then a live DB/DBZ movie could be a real good watch. I am all for this protest as i don't think that hollywood has what it takes to stick to an original story.

Ugh...the Kamehameha was the worst. What were they aiming for, excatly? Where in the series/manga did go propell himself in the air with a kamehaha?? As I recall in DragonBall he punched the ground with a kamehameha in hand and THAT'S how he propelled himself! Not by flying forward when it's obvious that he's shooting it out of his hand. They might as well should of had the kamehameha come out of his butt. Or at least rename it Naruto (rasengan is the closest thing to THAT kamehameha). Terrible.
Today was the release in my country, there hasn't been a big promotion at all. Most people disappointed at it. Now, I found an article written in my country telling that the real budget of this movie is lower than we all knew, around 45/50 million dollars.
and my good friend called "Mr. Moral Justicsky" said that those same people are people without BALLS and without their "I" but just another bunch of people who'd rather sound/look "cool" then do the RIGHT thing and behave purely.

I heard in an older version, while the overall idea was the same (Goku vs. Piccolo), Goku was indeed a nerd at school, Dragonball was a brand name "Dragonball the card game, the video game..." Goku played said games with his friends, Goku goes from zero to hero...

I saw the preview again today. I wanted to cry in rage as I saw the trailer. God, What happened to Goku? Picolo looks extremely fake. The movie seems like it was made in the 80's. The special effects do not seem impressive, and the cast sucks. I do not want people who have not seen DB to think that it is like the movie.

DBZ, rather, the DBZ movie 'World's Strongest' was the first anime I've ever seen. I was thrilled by the action sequences and the characters and pretty much everything else in relation to Dragon Ball. This, however, I will not stand for. It goes against everything that is Dragon Ball and I HOPE that Fox will WAKE up and REALIZE that.

Some animes should never be turned into a live action movie b/c it just won't feel right b/c they will, like always, lack something. I used to be a fan of Dragon Ball GT (it's the one where Goku is a kid right?) I'll watch as many episodes as I can when I find the time. Besides DB isn't the only thing being made into a live action movie, so I understand your pain.
Although I really dislike GT and don't count him in franchise at all...I realize that it at least kept the same messages and overall point of DB/Z unlike this movie which by no means could ever possibly even remind of DB except title and names...

I still respect Marsters as someone who atleast didn't lie as much as others and who at least once said "man DB movie, this is going to suck!"(Fox probably warned him after that one) but if he was a real man and DB fan he would refuse the role in something that looks like everything but like Dragon Ball.

No, its ok :) We stopped advertising petition long ago, since the first movie came out and we fortunately made it TOTALLY FAIL :D
We've done everything we could and hopefully won this WAR by stopping the sequels as well, cause the only thing we can do now is wait and hear the official words on Sequels by Fox studios.
if there will be no sequels YAHOOO WE ALL CELEBRATE!..(even though already now we know that chances for sequel are miserable)

I hated DBE.. It was a piece of shit. I grew up with DBZ and i remember the first time I saw DBZ I was hooked when freeza stabbed krillin with his horn i was about 12 and i was like HOLY SHIT. I'm 21 now and still love the fuck out of DBZ... but DBE can suck a dick and die.
If they WERE to make some sort of sequel, i'd be pissed, but if they handed the rights to someone else to make it more professional, more true to the manga (maybe a few slight tweeks), and better actors, then i'd watch it

Personally i liked the idea of having a live action movie, i thought and still do think that if the movie were to follow the anime/manga then a live DB/DBZ movie could be a real good watch. I am all for this protest as i don't think that hollywood has what it takes to stick to an original story.

BS. No matter how hard you try to explain the way the creators TRY to explain that ridiculous scene I still believe they could've done better. And yeah Goku did shot one from his feet, but you actually say it coming from his feet, not like this where he's obviously shooting it forward. He shot forward not backwards. And bub, that was no kamehameha he fired at Majin Vegeta. The concept was wrecked and that's final.

Ugh...the Kamehameha was the worst. What were they aiming for, excatly? Where in the series/manga did go propell himself in the air with a kamehaha?? As I recall in DragonBall he punched the ground with a kamehameha in hand and THAT'S how he propelled himself! Not by flying forward when it's obvious that he's shooting it out of his hand. They might as well should of had the kamehameha come out of his butt. Or at least rename it Naruto (rasengan is the closest thing to THAT kamehameha). Terrible.

About the film being like this from the start... not quite. I heard in an older version, while the overall idea was the same (Goku vs. Piccolo), Goku was indeed a nerd at school, Dragonball was a brand name "Dragonball the card game, the video game..." Goku played said games with his friends, Goku goes from zero to hero...
... BUT KRILLIN is in it! ... I also heard there was less fighting... BUT KRILLIN!

this isnt actually dragonball though, its just an adaptation, it cant hurt you just by people seeing it. its just different you guys don't have to see the movie no, i mean you all are fans of db right? well so am i and i see nothing wrong with a movie changing a few things around so it fits into the format of a movie a little bit better.
but the bottom line is it isn't actually dragonball anyway so whats the problem, dragonball ended in 1996 on the 291st episode of dbz,....... GT doesnt count.

I saw the preview again today. I wanted to cry in rage as I saw the trailer. God, What happened to Goku? Picolo looks extremely fake. The movie seems like it was made in the 80's. The special effects do not seem impressive, and the cast sucks. I do not want people who have not seen DB to think that it is like the movie.
This is a serious offense to fans and I too hope it fails even do it hurts my heart because it is DB after all.

A fighting Bulma??? And WTF happended to Master Roshi? And Piccollo looks kinda fake... Where are the other main characters from DB??? WTF!?! This is going to ruin people's childhoods. DBZ, rather, the DBZ movie 'World's Strongest' was the first anime I've ever seen. I was thrilled by the action sequences and the characters and pretty much everything else in relation to Dragon Ball. This, however, I will not stand for. It goes against everything that is Dragon Ball and I HOPE that Fox will WAKE up and REALIZE that.

Yeah I thought about it many times...but unfortunately probably it wouldn't work unless there are lots of DB fans at one place and well organized....that is not the case with my country and town unfortunately...

I really thought the first trailer/video I saw for this wretched movie was a joke or at least fan made trailer/video and I was impressed by that thinking it was that and nothing more but once I knew that it was real I was like WTF! My mind went into shock I was like what have they done, they should've gone 3-D at the most, keep it in it's anime style JERKS! The ppl who worked on this movie are obviously not true fans It'll be a sad day for DB fans if that movie comes out.

Some animes should never be turned into a live action movie b/c it just won't feel right b/c they will, like always, lack something. If someone is going to make a live action movie based on a anime show it should be equal or better than the anime, otherwise what was the point, at least for me that is Only true fans should make anime live action based films, if they have 2, I'd keep it animated

I used to be a fan of Dragon Ball GT (it's the one where Goku is a kid right?) I'll watch as many episodes as I can when I find the time. Besides DB isn't the only thing being made into a live action movie, so I understand your pain.
