Phase shifting by a solo performer, whilst we should not underestimate the skill and stamina involved, is nowhere near as exhilirating as phase shifting done by computer software, especially when 3, 4, 8 or even 16 parts going gradually out of phase are invoved. That is truly awe-inspring. Its the gradualness of the "between synchronised" beats that provides the magic. I use such cascading canons in my compositions. (composer Lawrence Ball)
@TomStanya1 Hi thanks! It's quite a challenging feat to do, but still very fun to play. I think Steve Reich needs to compose a new piece where one person conducts two separate halves of an orchestra using one conducting wand per hand and makes one hand phase the other half of the orchestra against the other lol! I should post Piano Phase using two organs and a set of footpedals creating 'Three' different 12-note patterns phasing against each other simultaneously. Does YouTube have a vid of that?

Such skill, this is amazing. Im astounded how a group of musicians can do this, never mind a single person... This is a true display of talent!
