as far as drumming goes, the best is direct drive petals like axis, trick, pearl demon drive for speed and control at high speeds. but to be honest, i'd take an iron cobra over all of that. mostly do to the fact i love tama's tone and their hard wear is amazing. and the old death and thrash drummers swear by tama like Dave Lombardo. and lars but it all comes down to the drummer like if you don't have feet, you don't have foot work. if you know what i mean. the man is more important than machine.
deans are great if youre willing to spend too much money (I spent $400 on mine and right off the bat had to replace the pickup for $100, and on the back it says made in china)

I respectfully disagree. I don't much like the vocals on the crusade either personally, but shogun, it brings back aspects of ETI and Ascendancy, while incorporating the aspects of The crusade, Shogun is almost like a montage of their past music. i personally see Shogun as a very very well put together album. Forgive me for the "Technical" Comment earlier, its not so much technical in the playability, as much as technical in the way the music is put together, they use alot of theory on shogun.
maybe the vocals bring it back a bit by screaming more, but the singing is a lot different and the guitar is just not fun to play anymore, they might use a lot more musical theory in shogun, but who needs musical theory anyways ? it should be fun to play with lots of energy,while melodic and technical... not boring with no energy and sticking to strictly theory
technically speaking, all music is theory, whether you know what your doing or not. and boring because of sticking to theory? look at Rush. Neil pert has a degree in theory, and he writes almost all the music in rush and their stuff is amazing. but i do agree, the overall style they had on ETI and Ascendancy is gone, they did change, but i in my own opinion honestly dont see it for the worse.

I think Ascendancy has some really good elements Shogun lacks and vice versa.
They have a much cleaner sound in Shogun however, ascendancy has better melodies.

how are they sellouts? They progressively got better over the years. Their music is much more technical now. there is alot more in it than it used to be. their music has evolved. and if you call that selling out, than all bands are sellouts.

its not technical at all anymore lol. ive learned all the songs on ascendancy and the crusade, i dont like the singing on the crusade but whatever the instruments are still sweet. they try too much to sound like metallica these days i used to be obsessed with ther music though, obvs if i learned 2 albums and more lol. i like all ther music but shogun is an embarisment they could do a lot better

I respectfully disagree. I don't much like the vocals on the crusade either personally, but shogun, it brings back aspects of ETI and Ascendancy, while incorporating the aspects of The crusade, Shogun is almost like a montage of their past music. i personally see Shogun as a very very well put together album. Forgive me for the "Technical" Comment earlier, its not so much technical in the playability, as much as technical in the way the music is put together, they use alot of theory on shogun.

maybe the vocals bring it back a bit by screaming more, but the singing is a lot different and the guitar is just not fun to play anymore, they might use a lot more musical theory in shogun, but who needs musical theory anyways ? it should be fun to play with lots of energy,while melodic and technical... not boring with no energy and sticking to strictly theory

technically speaking, all music is theory, whether you know what your doing or not. and boring because of sticking to theory? look at Rush. Neil pert has a degree in theory, and he writes almost all the music in rush and their stuff is amazing. but i do agree, the overall style they had on ETI and Ascendancy is gone, they did change, but i in my own opinion honestly dont see it for the worse.
