  • I find it amazing how smooth and flawless the liver looks from the front but when you see it under a microscope..

  • Left lateral sectionectomy. Good technique of liver transection. Skin closure is bad!

  • boss!

  • when they cut the vein.. awwesome

  • He is a good doctor

  • very sensitive this video......

  • beautiful beautiful surgery. and the music is not disrespectul in any way. Its is about sharing the knowladge. And by bloodless he means a clean surgery with no complications.

  • Bloodless?

  • Did the patient consent to footage of his insides appearing on Youtube?

  • Beatiful

  • What is the reason to divide left portal vein and left hepatic artery? You did not perform left hemihepatectomy (seg 2,3,4) but left lateral sectionectomy (seg 2,3) and there is the high risk of the ischemic injury of segment 4. If I were you, I would not have performed vascular division. What is your opinion about my comment?

  • The classical music in the background is cheesy and disrespectful towards the patient.

  • @solarwind1980

    will change it

  • can a person live with that little piece of liver? o_O

  • o3o

  • A total work of art

  • beautiful!

  • amazing <3

  • @whokilledthefish probably that was a good option as well

  • Cu cine face banking:)))

  • @PisKoteLL what's that?

  • @drsharaddesai I had a question what kind of surgeon is he?

  • Y is she not bleeding

  • Impressive!!!

  • Very nice work, Doc! Love the music with the surgery. It made it so exciting! I have a 13 cm hemangioma on my liver and want it out. Unfortunately, it covers over 1/2 my liver, so I am not sure if i have this option. I call the hemanigoma (cluster of vessels, basically) "Chester the Molester". Because it freaks me out that I have an alien growing inside me. It is not cancer, for those unfamiliar, but it is painful at times. I hope it will not grow anymore.

  • whats that in the liver, that one looks like a tumor...is it a tumor? sorry im not a pre med student..=(

  • @DrMMHMD Vessel sealing - Used Martin Maxium Electrocautery.

  • I didnt know you could find this on youtube

  • Started as (L) hepatectomy, but converted to Segment II/III as it was ok depending on residual vascularity and disease magnitude.

  • lol chop sticks xD

  • Could you anshwer me if it is a left hepatectomy or a left segmentectomy resecting only sehments II and III? thanks

  • @ernanidesorder definitely left lateral sectionectomy (seg 2,3)

  • great work ... god bless

  • ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • masterpiece!!

  • was the section that was removed faulty?

  • imagine if anesthetic didn't exist...

  • great video sir.. myself a surgery resident from delhi... any recommendations for liver mobilisation and bleed control in liver trauma

  • @majaz11

should depend on case to case. My answer may not satisfy you

  • If I only really liked school, surgery is my number 1 choice. Too bad. I'll just be a surgical technician or technologist. Idk the difference

  • I like this, very cool!

  • sir. This is the most amazing thing i have ever seen, I have been watching sergeries since i was 12 and what u did to divide the liver was something i had never seen..it was brilliant...im hoping to become a trauma surgeon one day do u have any advice for me??...by the way the entire video i thought u had a camera on your cap...i give props

  • @traumadrama303

Being a trauma surgeon is one of the most fascinating and innovative fields of Surgery. Maybe you may or may not earn, but if done with passion, it is one of the most exciting profession!! Go for it!! Good Luck

The Camera was in the hands of a resident doc, who deserves great praise. Sure he will be a great surgical hand!

  • you ligated the Lt hepatic a and Lt. portal v. but it looked like you resected on the lt side of the Falciform ligament which is segment 2 qnd 3 what about the supply to segment 4

  • wow.nice way to resect parenchyma. do you use CUSA, Post a segment 4b+5 resection

  • just amazing.inspired to do liver resection .why not post a segment 4b+ 5 for CAGB?Would you train me for a month?Iam a general surgeon based at kokata

  • dear sir, actually i am a young general surgeon i had to do an segment resection of segment 3 & 4 for a traumatic liver laceration causing devitalisation of these segments. so i came across your video, it was an brilliant and outstanding video, specially the last "unique portion of resection" at the very end. but i was unable to take those through and through sutures due to needle size, and increase thickness liver as i was going deep,. which suture size n type do u use for that step.??Thanks

  • @alinaqvi1864

It is tricky! For developing countries, however it is still the cheapest method. Use a Roundbody needle with Vicryl or PDS. Take a large bite in the capsule, come out thru the raw surface and then go in again to come out thru the capsule at the opposite surface. A firm but not tight knot! Be careful not to cause a tear and more bleeding!

  • @alinaqvi1864 The main part of the liver containing cysts or mass has been separated. The last separation was very close to beating heart, what I feel , there must be metal protection to avoid a slip and hurt the myocardAnd another question , if the patient has normal life expactation with a small part of liver?

I don't know, and I don't know much of what there doing but I can point out somethings. I watch greys anatomy alot, it's my favorite show. Ugh. 23,000 per term for med school isto much! Jeez!

  • Dr Desai you are a genius! すごい!

Btw, did you assistant film these ops?

  • @michanzuki

You must be a surgeon to appreciate this procedure! (ur profile says u are a homemaker?) And you have really hit the nail on its head by giving credit to the videographer who was a junior surgeon. He has really filmed it perfectly. Even I havent seen a better liver resection video.
