i am a streetboarder, have been for the last 15years. to all those skateboarders who are giving bad comments. have you actually tried it. its not as easy as it looks. we just make it look easy because its taken us years to get it right and we have the broken bones and scars to prove it. we cant bail like you can. This is nothing like skateboarding so give it a rest your boring.

How are snakeboards for commuting?

There are absolutely no hills here, one street starts like 10 meter higher then the rest that's it. Can I easily pump this thing up to about 20 kmph?

I respectfully disagree with EVERYONE of you. SB has nothing to do with snowboarding or skateboarding. In snowboards you drive like in skates , moving your weight to the sides. in sb is a more complicated waist/legs/shoulders combo keeping your feet flat all the time. The GOOOD THING is to cruise without having to put your feet on the ground EVER, The bad thing is that those 90% of times in wich you avoid a fall jumping out of the skateboard , with a SB , there is no EASY ESCAPE.

I'm a veteran skateboarder. This is the first time I've ever seen these things and I haven't made up my mind yet. To my eye, there's something about the way your legs can move relative to each other that's slightly clumsy, and you can't do any flip/varial/nocomply/primo/dar­kslide action or even push efficiently, BUT these riders are legit, the learning curve looks not as steep as skateboarding, and most of all it looks FUN. My verdict: welcome to the streets, mongrel cousin!

I skateboard and streetboard and snowboard...they are different things. Apples and oranges my friend. They are all good for their own things. So are you saying skateboarding is better than snowboarding cuz you can't do a shove it or kickflip on a snowboard? You can't do a double backflip 360 rodeo on a skateboard, but people can on a streetboard or a snowboard. Streetboarding is more like snowboarding on the street than like skateboarding.
