@jlcyamaha, while it is true that the factories pay their riders more to race 4 strokes, Carmichael rec'd 2 million more ( I read ) for riding the RMZ 450 rather than the RM 250, and it's all because the factories make a ton more on parts. Yet, years ago, guys were trying to compete fairly with their 4 strokes in MX/SX because we had rebels. Where are these guys now? Where are the guys who do what they want to do, not what everyone else is doing? It's a sad injustice to 2 strokes.

@skidoohondapolaris, I was referring to the assanine rules the 2 stroke must compete with. If the rules were fair, we wouldn't be having 4 strokes racing at all, except in the lower classes. My point is proven by the fact that brand "H" made sure the 150/300 rule for the AMA pro nat'l's never made it to the voters.They also did make the comment about the AMA's suggestion that 250 2 strokes race 250 4 strokes at the nat'l level and if it happens, brand "H" would leave AMA racing....

Im faster than any 2 stroke rider ive seen on any track ive gone to, they might not be as skilled, but still I think what you can do to a 4 stroke in terms of upgrades completely blows away the 2 stroke. Stock 450f and a custom 250, the 4 stroke will win.

When it is a machine to machine race with bikes of equal capacity i.e. a 2 stroke 450/500 against a 4 stroke 450, the 2 stroke will win absolutely every time. That is why 4 strokes need a 100% displacement advantage (i.e. 2 strokes of 250cc and 4 strokes of 450cc) for 4 strokes to compete. Take rider skill at of the equation level the playing field and 2 strokes win

The perfect combination: the playful handling of a 125 with nearly as much engine power as a 250. The additionally optimised chassis with new geometry makes the 150 SX a real yardstick for all opponents. I got this off the ktm web site it is not changed at all . the 150 has a better chassis and supension and is the only smaller cc 2stroke that could smoke a 250 4 stroke. @koengixxer The rule is 150 here aswell which is why they were called 150sx's here and in europe before they were the US which still had the 144 rule (which is now obsolete).The specs at Belgium ktm are the same as everywhere else. 144cc. You can even work it out by the bore and stroke if you want, you will get just under 144cc. The piston size will be different to a YZ big bore kit, the factorys and the engine modders go different ways with the stroke and bore to get a 144.
