@20121995tom i weigh over 200, and had a 2007 ninja 250. works great, cruises over 60mph, i took mine over 100mph once. but you'll be on the throttle more than on a 600cc. great starter bike if you've never rode a motorcycle though

@20121995tom I weigh about the same as you and I'm 6' 2" and I can ride the ninja 250R I have a 2009 ninja 250R. Check out my videos if you want to see but I'm sure you'll be fine on the 250r. its an amazing starter bike and amazing bike overall even if you're an experienced rider, so light and agile, its tonnes of fun!

You can minimize damage to your body by: 1. wearing gear 2. taking the MSF course or similar and 3. Ride defensively

I like your videos, I've been searching the market for a small bike as my first sportbike. Your vids gave me a little insight into what the ninja 250r's are like. Thank you.

One question: I'll be doing a fair bit of highway riding for 1.5-2 hours at a time, what rpm does it run at 60mph? 70mph? What rpm is comfortable to cruise at (if you werent looking at the spedometer)?

I cruise on major roads at 60MPH all the time (around 6.3K RPM)

70MPH is about 7.6K RPM

It's very comfortable to cruise at 60MPH I found. but 70 and 75 is still comfortable as well.

cruising at 85MPH on this bike is.....not very comfy on a windy day lol

Nah, But you won't be flatfooting both feet at 5'2 "although" I'd argue that gives you a false sense of confidence in general anyway. Height makes a difference when you're stopped, but you spend more time on the bike driving than standing it still, and thank the gods you will for all that leg room.

Hey rebel, I'm in tempe and ive been watching your videos since I took interest in the ninja 250 as my first bike. Im 26 and I think how fun it would be to have been at 16, flipped some burgers, and to ride this to school as a teenager. No bike is totally safe but its a damn good way to start instead of a 600, we have our whole lives to get the dream bike, first bike will make the differance between long time rider or road rash and quitter, l know plenty of both.

plus, bike doesn't allow entering the highway (i mean all cc) that's suck!

so if they want to test their bike, they should try in legal circuit..

now im using yamaha scorpio z 225cc. after using suzuki yes 125..

just want compare the top speed with ninja 250. and you know what?
