1-6 are have also been great in the times they came out. But you're right, FF12 hasn't got this awesome feeling, if you play a FF game the first time. It's kinda nice, but not as awesome as FF7-10 (my favourites are 7 and 8 ^^). I think FF12 was a total fail. I mean, yes it's kinda better than a lot of other games, but compared to other FF's it's bad. I mean, a FF without Bahamut???? That's not a real FF. I hope FF XIII will be better.
i know it's a question of taste but I don't think that any game can compete with the FF series. FF8 was also my first part. It took hold of me for months.
Final fantasy 7, 8, 10/11 (set in same world and kinda same story), Final fantasy 12, are the best games of there gener and only resident evil series, metal gear solid series and silent hill series stand up there with them.
The stories are emotional and and epic and will immerse you into a world and a game which you will wish never ended. The only reason im getting me PS3 fixed is so i can play ff13
My first FF game. It got me hooked, so if you haven't played it, I completely recommend it. Some FF games aren't as good as others, but FFVIII is a great place to start.
ff8 sucked ass all you did was rely on GFs to get any kind of attack power and the limit breaks were useless because you had to be 1 hit from death to use it and they weren't all that strong anyway
my most favorite composer of all time. I just think this medium (a video game) is so much tougher to create a soundtrack to; most movies last about 2 hours, so that's a good while for a composer to create a soundtrack. video games? for a Final Fantasy game, around 30+ hours of game exploration. and each new place, a new backing song.
What's more amazing is in that vast of a space, none of the songs really lack punch to them. Since we're on FF8 let's talk about it...every song from Liberi Fatali, Eyes On Me, Ami, Breezy, the boss and battle themes, Overture, Ride On, all of them...all amazing. Such is the ability of a legend. We will never see another Nobuo in our lifetime...Let's be glad we got him!
All I know is he composed the main theme for Final Fantasy XIII and is currently (or finished, not sure) the soundtrack for Blue Dragon 2. But beyond that, it's anyones guess. I really hope he composes more FF stuff soon...or even another solo project. The more Uematsu, the better!

I felt that FFVIII was rushed. The cinematics and the pace were great, also the characters were fun, but as you progressed past the third disc, it seemed to dip a lot in the story and gameplay. Then you reach the last disc where everything is blocked off apart from the last boss area (which is a bit odd, because a whole disc devoted to the last level which is probably an hour to two hours long.)
It reminds me of Xenogears which was also very good, but rushed at the end.
you know, even when i was a kid that pissed me off.. i thought it was so cheap..
but one part of the game that did kinda make up for that for me was getting the pupu card and the tonberry king GF on the last disc.. as irrelevant as that is..

well I read on wikipedia that a world concert tour dedicated to FF, with Nobuo Uematsu, is coming, beginning in Stockholm this year! It's named "Distant Worlds". It is very likely that he will go to UK too (and who knows, he may also return in Italy!).

it IS awesome, it IS **. few weeks ago Nobuo was here in Italy for an orchestral concert (maybe a little bad-arranged but still beautiful), it's been unforgettable. You had to see us, crying like babies, everybody... :P and Nobuo is very very nice! I really hope someday you can go to one of these concerts, I think you deserve it^^
In my opinion, I like the music from FF VII XD and no, not because of the Sephiroth theme, but the intire game's music is very strong to the story, and what (parcially) made me play the intire game through.

lol. ever hear of Aura? or Meltdown. usefull spells Aura lets you do limits even at max and meltdown removes even bosses defence stat to 0.

Man, i dont see how it could have been one of the worst selling games in the franchise..
it was so cinematic and dramatic.. i felt more enveloped in the story of ffVII than i did in ffVII or X for sure.
if any FF deserves a spinoff or remake, its FFVII..

it IS awesome, it IS **. few weeks ago Nobuo was here in Italy for an orchestral concert (maybe a little bad-arranged but still beautiful), it's been unforgettable. You had to see us, crying like babies, everybody... :P and Nobuo is very very nice! I really hope someday you can go to one of these concerts, I think you deserve it^^

In my opinion, I like the music from FF VII XD and no, not because of the Sephiroth theme, but the intire game's music is very strong to the story, and what (parcially) made me play the intire game through.

i think some scores in ffvii are great too. there r character themes and i felt that those themes suits them perfectly. and yeah, the scores in ffvii are at their best. i din notice much about ff9, maybe because i wasn't so interested in the game itself- i felt that the storyline is poor compared to the last 2 installations. can you recommend some?

Best game series ever is Final Fantasy best AMV's and music I think in FF X/2 Yuna is the best ^^ I played most of the FF's only XI,XII and XIII missing in my life :)

all i can say, that all the FF series are too exelent buy music FF8 think, and more specific is the 1st FF series released ( FF 7 ).. and the history of that.. software decided to go thier last game.. and the game named as Final Fantasy.. 'cause software on that time was on the level of bankcrupy, and they decided to released one more game as i said it's name after Final Fantasy.. and grown up on to now they have FF XIII...
