The biggest FPS loss on ATI cards comes from turning shadows/shaders too high, it's just a recent driver problem but actually makes it impossible to play some games with shaders turned on at all (Startship Troopers). I'm sure they're working on a driver fix.

@philonetic well it seems to effect my fps as much as it did to my Nvidia Gefore 7300gt

but the x1650 runs crysis with about 5 more fps on average so it kinda didn't make it run AS bad but it lost about the same amount of frames. but it also might be your processor, its actually really slow :\

Yeah it's definitely the processor. If you can tell me your socket number I can point you to a 3.0ghz+ processor for under 10$. Also to be honest, that extra 256mb may actually be slowing you down. Also find out if you use DDR or DDR2 memory (1.8ghz I know its not DDR3 hehe). You can get 4gb (2gbx2) for under 40$, if you get the same RAM for both/all 4 slots they'll crossfire and make it even faster (if ur board supports dual chan ram). But yeah, 50$ will gain you 15-20fps

@philonetic well right now im not focusing on my specs, its just that a lot of shit happened to my computer and now it has a memory leak that uses 100% of my CPU by using a SVCHOST.exe file that i can't fix :(

and i have an issue with my secondary hard drive that doesn't let me start up my computer if it's connected. so right now my entire system is nearly useless when this leak happens.

Would be easy if you lived in VA, I'd have you up and running for free in a day :/ SVCHOST is a tricky little bugger, sounds like there's too much on startup. There's also some other fixes, can go over anything if you via messages if you want.

@TheRaino39 no, you'll run it at low. you have a very low end graphics card. GTX 460 is what you're looking for if u want to run it at very decent settings. not at crazy resolutions.

Beleave it or not on my amd sempron 3000+ 1.61ghz, 2gb ddr2 800mhz ram, radeon x1650 XT 256mb runs better than this. A don't know why people say this card is piece of crap ? It's still good card, it can handle GTA 4 on medium settings and get about 25fps ( but you need good cpu, like a AMD Athlon || x4 640 series ). Beleave it, this card still good. (sorry for bad english)

I own a Compaq Presario sr1300NX 3000+ Sempron and would love to run Crysis but I have a crappy graphics card. I would have to get a bigger PSU in order to run the graphics card this guy is using (X1650 Radeon). My Quad Core with 9500 GS does run Crysis very well though.

I disagree. GT 240 GDDR5 comes with a clock frequency of 550 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 425 MHz. The X1650 has clock of 600mhz and memory speed of 800mhz. X1650 also has 8 pizel pipelines as opposed to 4 so it can draw nearly 2x as fast. GT240 draws 16gb/s max while X1650 draws over 22g/s. Math says X1650 is better.

Yeah, That's my Old PC I'm Getting a HD 4850 Sometime soon and will be making a video.

The reason for the lag is Because of Fraps + the Cards AGP, and your right my CPU Sucks.
