  • I actually made a quaternion fractal raytracer as a pixel-shader myself some time ago, and discovering that it already was done - being magnitudes faster - almost devastated me =)

Raytraced self-shadowing might have been too much...

AWESOME piece of software, and since I know first hand the precise issues with this, I can really appreciate this! Coder porn indeed.

  • Wow! Real time quaternion fractals and in 4k. I'm very impressed because I need about 30s to render one frame and rendering program is much more bigger (40k).

  • i might be a n00b, but that's amazing in 4k

  • Very nice and fast!

You would be surprised how little code it takes to render something like this; the difficulty is making it render fast. My own renderer in slightly optimized C code running on a C2D E6600 is faster than the optimized equivalent shader running on my GeForce 7600 GT. This is most likely hand written assembly utilizing some SIMD instruction set running on at least 2 CPU cores.

  • iq, its one of the best 4ks ever

  • Check out his new 4k, "Elevated". It's the best 4k ever. :)

  • Coder porn!

  • lol

indeed, pretty nice forms, uh? ;>

  • Really beautiful!
