My '07 focus wagon has that noisy power steering pump too, and it only has 36,000 miles on it. Must be common problem

@RedRoosterRoad That it's internal components are quite worn + likely leaking = not going to last very long. But it could also be low on fluid or simply have air in the system as in may of been replaced but not properly bled to rid all the air.

Grandma had a 2003 Focus wagon. It was loaded and everyone loved that car. There was so much space and it was fun. That 2007 was fucked though. Focus' are really reliable though I have a 2000 LX sedan.

Actually the only thing wrong with this was the power steering pump.... If one knows how to replace it, this would an $80 fix.... I actually had to transport this car for 200 miles & it really drove well along with a plush ride... I hated the interior, & the damn thing begs for more gears cause of that 4 spd. At 80 MPH I can make out the engine screaming at around 3300 RPM LOL... 2005+ are far more reliable than the 00-04 Focus...

If it's beeping like that much at startup, something's wrong with it. If it only beeps once, than that means System Check OK.
