No one tells you it isn't easy being saved. As long as you're living there's going to be struggle somewhere. Salvation isn't learned, it's experienced...but learning leads to salvation. He's talking about his struggle and how he's waiting for salvation. Jesus is the rock... the star of David. That's why he keeps saying Rock dust light star. He talks about deception and how he can't tell who "believes". He talks about a lot of stuff. Too much to mention. Jay's been through stuff. Deep song.

I heard that Jay is Jewish.He has sung two songs (that I know) about Jesus.Star Child and This one.He's giving a personal account in this song. I can relate somewhat to what he's saying.I understand what he means. In many churches today "service" is being abused and enslaving many people.They feel like they owe God for their salvation and they will never be able to pay such a debt.On top of manipulation and "paying back" there's shame. People end up wounded and and feeling betrayed.

Jesus was a spiritual Master. He is not “the creator”. He is the “example”. And he never wanted to be worshiped.

The teachings of Jesus were different than what you can read in the bible. The original teachings were about Love, Wisdom, and real Spiritual Development. It was NOT about following a religion and paying taxes to the priests.

It was about using the Love in the heart. He was teaching you how to become a master too.

But definitely don't be a slave to any man or man created idea like the church. I must say that you will have to give a solid argument saying Jesus isn't the creator since he's strongly associated with "the Word" and all was made through the Word (John 1:1).

Jesus teachings were culminated in one verse, "I have not come to condemn the world, but to give it life, and give it to the full." Jesus is totally about love and wisdom and ESPECIALLY Spiritual Development. And perhaps he didn't say that He wanted to be worshipped, but He certainly deserves it for all the stuff he put up with here on Earth and what he does in Heaven

I was getting ready to download this song unto my ipod when, what I can only describe as a miraculous intervention from God, I began to actually "hear" what Jay Kay was saying and the meaning behind his words. He is basically saying that he does not believe in God and those who do are nothing more than slaves and the bible is basically a "crazy doctrine". We must be very careful, God Bless! :-)

I think JK is one of the few that still carry with them the true soul of funk. With some artists you perceive naturalness as he sings and plays the lyrics. Surely it is those who are in the top 10 more than in Funk history. Perfect execution
