Me dreaming: Very quiet vacuum pump with reasonably high vacuum pressure.

Is it possible?

(Also, cheap too).

@MACHINEIRON Why dreaming ? Get some cheap plywood at the next home depot, any company is happy to give you the styrofoam of their last arrival shipments for free,

ake up a nice housing and the "banshee" should be as quit as you bother to make it.

If there should be thermal issues (unlikely for single casting) you may look out for

a single Peltier element - better check the next flea market and buy one of

those electric cooling boxes => muffles the sound and keeps everything cool.

THX - in spite I have a prof Vac Setup by now I like using me "Lil Banshee" to vac small

pulse formers. Cheapskating Rules :-) !!

A cheap EBay Meter once showed 10-3 mbar, true ? WTF !

Always worked to draw the last bit of air from formers and shattered

2 heavy walled jars.

BTW. that setup does NOT work for very long - like 500 cycles is all

one may expect wo. major work on the pump.

But alas - for less than a 10 ucks :-)

THX :-) - No unfortunately I don't have a guage to measure....

But Vac is strong enough to shatter the jar, so IRL the jar is taped.
