Anything we say about anything is duality . The real way to understand this is to keep our mouths shut for a while and reject anything coming into our minds for a while . Where will we be then? Hell if I know but a load of s$#t will dissipate.
I watched his series. Check out his last video in the series when he says there there is no "I exist" of Decartes.
He says we are all one univesal consciousness. This is the key that needs to be addressed. He is reducing the universe to electrical energy, including consciousness. I think that's an oversimplification and avoids the true question of dualism. His answer is that there IS no mind, so the question of dualism is an invalid question. To him, the brain/body/universe is all one.
Also I think his substitution of qualia for experiance is merely that, qualia IS experiance, but we are saying much the same thing actually just his metaphors are a bit different. My metaphoric reality is that the Universe is experiance and reality and our thought of it are merely abstractions.
2) However both qualities are a part of experience, and cannot and probably should not be totally ignored, so to maintain both the appreciation of appearance and reality while doing without those pesky appearance reality distinctions, we may further abstract both concepts, the physical and the thought of the physical into a unified experience, where our experience becomes the abstract concept of an asymptotic point of intersection between them, and experience becomes reality.
1) When we look at all relations, we should probably not think of them as a (thought of a thing, nor as a thing thought of) neither one of those actually is efficient. The idea that a distinction between thought and thing is necessary to live may be simply the beginning of an evolutionary process; an abstract concept that at one time was necessary, but now is simply not as useful.
this whole idea of a "dualism" seems to me to be merely some sort of logical error, or made up at least.
As I see it, "the mind" is not something that exists by itself, it is our abstract concept for, or an effect of us looking at, what emerges from the activity of our brain matter. To put these two things as two alleged opposites against each other makes no sense at all to me.
pretty much my position... however, we do face the presence of dualistic ideology all around us, so it has arrisen. And also, for those of us that don't hold stock in it as presented, we have to see the value in dialistic views... they are useful approximations, falsifications, as it happens, which make real time processing possible.
I sort of agree. And I sort of agree with pyrrho in that we don't need a bridge. Pyrrho may be overcorrecting with subjectivism, I'LL explain. INstead of continuously refraiming what we know to be objective reality into a subjective referent we can think of both reality and thought of it as abstractions and experaiance as reality.
@CousinoMacul that dog was saying everything is mental. He ought to know, he isnt so distracted by semantics and interpretation...my "dog speak" is a little rusty though....it could also have been "somebody's here"

I don't know what you mean... I would say nothing we speak of is really dual.

OK Pyrrho:

yes, as "reality" BY definition. We have the experience (qulia) to start, and call that "living" and "reality" and "material reality".

I don't think I've ever heard that dog bark in previous videos.
