AWSOME!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! R.I.P. Buddy (Charles), Ritchie (Ricardo), Big Bopper (Jiles). That was and has to be the saddest day in the history of the world! Love you and will never forget you. SDM
Sad news for all Buddy Holly fans: The dean of our fraternity, Bill Griggs of Lubbock Texas, THE Buddy Holly expert, true rock and roll fan and researcher extraordinaire, has passed away. We will forever remember his friendship and dedication to great music. Rock On Bill!
@Legalities4U .picture wise not quite, some was yes, but some i had found previously on inlays from albums as well as google images. Audio wise, none were from the site, all were from my own collection.
Very well done! I'm always happy to see care and attention involving this sort of video. Nice choice of tunes (undubbed Buddy), great photos, several new to me. I'm impressed. Thanks ugfrog
All of them, so young. I believe Ritchie was only seventeen. Sad to watch the dates going by on the posters advertising the last tour. I can appreciate how difficult it must have been to put this tribute together - you have done a terrific job on it. Thanks for sharing it, and thanks for including Eddie Cochran' song, too - Eddie's death was another great loss to the world, and to the music that we love.
@justmusicandme Wow! Thanks for sharing Loretta, glad I didn't miss this one! Mark, you did a great job producing this piece of R'n'R History. It deserves a LOT of views!
@lettermen1 Cheers Phil, i'm not really worried about how many views though fella, as long as it gives those that do view pause for thought....so much given by these three boys and Eddie Cochran in such a short space of time....it's tragic...! Even coming here to reply makes me "well up" inside and i wasn't even born then..!
@imanuglyfrogtoo Thanks, Mark but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to make you well up again.... I was 14 years old that day and still have a vivid memory of my mother dashing upstairs to tell my older brothers and me the awful news. Not sure whether she had heard it on the radio or the morning paper (we were just waking up). For the first time in my young life I was stunned speechless, needless to say my bros were the same...truly the day the music died.
@justmusicandme Thanks Loretta, yes you're right in what you say, it was real tough. Eddie's anniversary will be another hard one. You know, when he was over here he became friends with a singer called Duffy Power and gave him his high school ring as a momento, Duffy Power was a family friend back then, always over "ours" for dinner and teasing my Aunt (who fancied him..lol).
Hi Mark..nice tribute to Buddy,Ritchie & the Bopper on this 52nd anniversary of that tragic day.I still remember that day well.I'm playing their music also today. Also losing Eddie the following year was also sad.
@1lenny ..Thanks mate, 'twas a difficult one to make with tears in my eyes, this was the third attempt before i thought i had done them all justice.....
The photos of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper performing are amazing!

Looks like all of the content in this video was lifted from BuddyHollyOnline - am I correct?
