Hmmm I thought that you fill the pen by dipping the tip in the inkwell bottle then pulling on a side lever on the pen, like on the old bugs bunny cartoons?
@TheThirdSister That would simply be a fountain pen, and they're still available.Fountain pens come in a couple of variations: some may use ink-filled cartridges, while others one fills by dipping them into the ink bottle and, usually, twisting a dial at the end of the pen to draw up the ink,(the action that would occur when pulling on the aforementioned "side lever"). Disadvantages?Fountain pens cannot use permanent india ink, and their nibs cannot match the quality of dip nibs.
Refreshing to see someone showing inking technique with actual INK, rather than a Photoshop facsimile of ink, which is of course not ink at all! I've got Speedballs too, Hunt's crowquill #102, haven't used it in years. Using the Faber-Castell artist pens these days, but craftsmanship still has its place.
im not really into the crow quill pen it catches on the paper and the ink takes FOREVER to dry on the paper. im more of a brush artist dries extremly quick and the point is smooth so no catching on the paper. just saying my prefrinse. i would use the brush for filling blacks and the line work
Cute voice, and nice peice of artwork. Got quite into the roleplay.

@TheFutureLooksGrimm I've never actually seen a pen like that, but I'd love to own one!

I used to do this all the time. And my grandfather threw away almost every simgle drawing I did. Mostly Mad Magazine Don Martin drawings...MAN!

Are you telling me that the reason that my inking atimpts have failed are because I've been drawing with my pen upside down?

inking direct onto slippery celluloid [as one done in the Fleischer days] must have taken a lot of skill.
Nice inking technique-----I use 3 different sized nibs in seperate holders, as changing nibs every day can be a bit of a pain.
