  • That's amazing - living art!

  • Very beautiful and interesting! It intrigues me and makes me ask for more! Thank u

  • I should do another one of these. Thanks for watching.

  • Very cool video! Who needs a plan? Super! The process can bring you to places that far exceed the rational mind.

  • Exactly right.

  • That's just very cool. Something I tend to think of as a static medium, and here its anything but static.

  • excellent work, and great music, too! nice!

  • Thank you!

  • now that's what I call art!

  • Thanks for saying so!

  • You are so welcome...and talented! :)

  • Well, I think it's brilliant. The video IS the painting. I don't want to know what the finished product was, as that is clearly not the point. I figured the second half was reverse animation, but I like the whole evolving art theme. The video lends immortality to each stage, and the physical loss of a stage is just a reflection of life, like a sand mandala.

  • Thanks; yeah, you get it. The art here is in the process. The finished product isn't the point.

I was given these cheapy student-grade oil paints; they're not lightfast, so I'd never paint anything I wanted to keep with them. But perfect for this.

I'd never have the patience to do the sand mandala. Those monks who do that must be almost superhuman.

  • Nah, Their just patient as all hell. It's all that meditating and discipline I think. Then again, we're talking about the same folks who can control their metabolism so they won't freeze to death, and can emit four to five throat tones at once, so maybe they are superhuman!

  • The images appear and disappear as I changed my mind. I felt that the process of visualizing images and changing them would be interesting in itself. The final image is the sea-monster version; I just ran the frames backward because I thought it looked neat. I didn't have any real reason to send it to you, except that I liked your face-painting and that my video was about painting faces... I don't know.

I haven't looked at your other videos but I intend to. Thanks for replying.

  • thanks for looking at my face painting video and for sending me this. but i wonder why some of the images on your painting appear then disappear. what does the finished painting look like then?
