The performance and acting are spectacular. Their costumes seem much more sophisticated than peasants. But can anyone say anything to this performance, you could be totally deaf and understand what's going on here.

@MisZing This Masetto is Alexander Malta, who is also a fabulous 4 villains in Hoffmann, Don Giovanni himself, Boris etc. With him I've had the pleasure of singing Crespel, Commendatore and Pimen/Warlaam, in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Zerlina is mostly for a light lyric/soubrette type voice, for whoever said that this wasn't a right cast of voice. Some coloraturas and even light lyric mezzos sings this type of role.

I agree with you, but who cares when Kathleen Battle's singing? lol  She could spit on the audience while singing and no one will ever really care.... because she's Kathleen Battle. Similar to Sutherland's diction, who really cares when you can sing like that?
