Being educated by Catholics does not make anyone Catholic.

Hitler claimed (maybe falsely), in several occasions, after his thirties, that he was Catholic. Under his government, books supporting the Enlightenment, and romantic novels depicting the daily lives of Secularists, Pagans or Jews, were burned.

Quite different from Mussolini, who was officially Catholic and made the Vatican a country, but never showed any signs of devotion (maybe he was pious, but did not show it).
